Hello All.

The 1990's Cherokee Limited Edition is my dream car and I spend quite a lot of time looking at jeep cherokee's on Taladrot.com. It would be great to have one but would it cost a packet to own a Jeep in Thailand? Do any members know if they are problematic with LPG. I only plan to spend max 300,000 so should I quash the dream? What keeps my interest is that there is a small garage down the road from where I live that specializes in Jeeps so I guess that would help somewhat when it comes to servicing and parts.

Cheers.

I owned a Jeep Cherokee for a couple of years, think it was around 1990, ran on LPG, had no real problems in that time, sold it on and got my money back, bought it from Manhiem Auctions in Bangkok, did around 6.75 kilometers per liter long runs of 1000 kilometers going up country, am now on my second 4.0 liter Wrangler, again on long runs 6.50 kilometers per liter, the most recent one have had valve saver fitted at around 1500 Baht, the first one got more than my money back after 2 years, no problems, ran on LPG, the guy who bought it from me more than happy.

Regards Tom

Sounds like you answered most of your questions already, don't see a need to have posters here cloud your point of view, complicate it or throw doubt into your decision just go for it..It's certain no matter what no one here is going to reap the rewards or suffer the penalties of their advice except you so that's how I'd approach it were I in your shoes.

Yesterday I popped into that local jeep garage and he gave me a test drive, so Ive had my fix for the next few months anyway, haha.
