Hi, as the topic kinda suggests, is there a product or service (vehicle related) from your homeland that you can't find here in TH but wish you could?

With the obsession of car ownership / face here one might think there would be a good business opportunity for someone to import and distribute something (s) either b2c or b2b.

Following the topic on best polishes, I found the usual suspects, glym, meguires and thought maybe there is room in the market...

Checked out a few custom polishes / products from australia/usa and they have no distributors here.

Just kicking around some ideas...

If you're thinking about car care products, I suggest you google "thai washer car club" and have a look around their "New products for sale" board.... Pretty much everything is covered, and when you do the math in import duties and freight, you'll find that they're all operating on very low margins, and there's a lot of vendor saturation already. I have been reading that forum for several years, and have noticed many vendors disappear too.. From what I've seen, it's a tough market to succeed in.

There are some more niche style products you could potentially look at though..

Car Audio is one category - there's still many well known high end brands that are not well represented here, and even some of the big brands don't sell the full model line-up (e.g. try to find Alpine SWR subs in TH). This is a dying market though of course, as better cars now have decent sound systems, and the people who can afford the luxury aren't terribly interested in cutting their cars, and it's not a DIY product for most people either.

Other possibilities are tuning products (ECU's etc) - there's a lot of locally developed tuning boxes etc in Thailand, but some of the more prestigious EU brands are not yet represented.

Next is crate engines and gearboxes for swaps.. no-one here selling them at reasonable prices, but I can only imagine there's some pretty big hoops you'd need to learn how to jump through...

Outside of that, almost everything else I can think of comes from Asia, and is already represented here...
