I always try to help when people need a plant ID, now it's me, I'm stuck. Two photos here, the plant is about 60/70cm high, leaves 5 or 6 cm wide, parallel venation. Using one key I got Orchidaceae which it obviously isn't. I worked in a botanical garden and got into the habit of not liking it when I didn't know the names of stuff.

Ovaries inferior. Bulbs.

Seems to be Eucrosia bicolor (from Ecuador or Peru)

YES! Thanks very much. I did decide that it was Amaryllidaceae eventually but not knowing its origin stemmed me.
