james512 Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 I've been looking for a flight from Aberdeen in Scotland to Bangkok for the first week in July. Everything i've found at the moment is pretty expensive for this period and was wondering if the prices may drop at all in the coming weeks. Anyone have any ideas on this or any recommendations to get cheaper flights? Tried to use my Flying Blue airmiles but they do not even have economy seats available.

Summer is the peak demand for travel, even if not to Thailand so prices rise industry-wide as vacant seats become in demand. Also, oil prices are going up. In practice, the prices should start to come down in September but these days that's not always certain. cv

Rinrada Posted June 7, 2006 Posted June 7, 2006 Tried a quick check with Emerald for July and came up with this one...but its from London...(maybe easyjet/ryanair) They do Aberdeen but with KLM its almost double... Unfortunately the high season starts around the first of July when they get a chance to rip you off although with a lot of punters staying home to watch some football thingy...the low period might last a little bit longer... anyway... Hi james512 You may want to try OPODO.com . They seemed the best for me to fly 'home' to Surin from LHR. They are a rarity as u can book international AND DOMESTIC flights to/within Thailand. I got TG direct flights at end of june for £430

tso310 Posted June 8, 2006 Posted June 8, 2006 We fly back end of June midweek £412 WestEast travel. 1 week later and we were looking at £200 more. Luckily our youngest finishe here GCSE's then and saved me a packet. UK universities finish start of July and loads of Thais are students here. Mid late July you're looking at families with kids between 5 and 15.
