This is exactly the reason why terrorists manage to accomplish their attacks...

Support by the uninformed / hate mongers / confused... make the relevant pick in your case..

I just wonder how many people got freed on that incident in BKK, where Iranian/Hezbollah operatives tried to throw a grenade on a taxi,

eventually blowing his own legs?

Or how about that tourist bus bombing in Burgas Bulgaria?

Or how many people got freed from the clutches of Assad in Syria, a murderous oppressive regime, while Hezbollah fought along side his military in Syria?

You got a funny definition for freedom...

Amazes me how they arrest all these highly wanted people from other countries, but yet when it comes to their own or a tourist is in need they are deaf dumb and blind.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good rant:

identified the three arrested suspects as a Thai citizen, Y. Ayyad, who was described as a member of a foreign operations unit of Hezbollah working out of East Asia

Thai citizen doesn't make him one of their own.

True, not by birth it seems.

This is a much better story: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-16543447

Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung said one man was being held over possible immigration offences.

"Technically the two men have not committed any crimes under the Thai law, so we could only use the immigration law to keep this one suspect in custody," he said.

The US embassy in Bangkok issued a warning on Friday that Americans should "exercise caution when visiting public areas where large groups of Western tourists gather".

It said they should "keep a low profile in public areas, particularly areas frequented by foreign tourists", without giving further details of the potential threat.

The Thai authorities had said there was no need for a general alert as it would "cause panic and affect our tourism".

Always the tourism. wai.gif

Hezbollah Thai citizen! This is a good bust. How many more of them exist already in Thailand? A Thai web site dedicated to gathering intelligence. This is a big surprise and welcome news.

"A Thai website dedicated to gathering intelligence".... with no recruits so far!

that website is called Facebook....lol

Au contraire, Hezbollah, literally "the party of god", fight to force one and all to be obediant to their god. The goal is that everyone become abd-Allah, slave to god. They battle against Sunni Arabs, Chistians, Druze, as well as against Jews. Although I should note that many Europeans, and some Americans, do admire their battle against the killers of Christ under the guise of anti-zionism. But they most certainly do not battle for anything remotely connected to western concepts of "freedom".

By the USA, EU, Canada, Australia.....

There's no oil in Lebanon, and the Americans were not trying to take over.

You may want to make that claim with regard to Israel, but that still doesn't cover carrying out terrorist attacks abroad. Most of the positive vibe Hezbollah used to get in Lebanon was based on either community work (via various charity organizations) or being seen as a force that takes on the Israeli military. Bombings abroad and attacks against civilians did not usually win them much support back home.

Carrying out attacks against civilian targets is not accepted by most countries - not just the USA. Attackers are not persecuted based on USA law, but rather according to that of the country where they carried out the attack. People are free to "deny" American laws in other countries (obviously, not in the USA) - attacks on USA targets abroad is a breach of local law.

Terrorists - or freedom fighters? It depends where you stand on the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory and Western support for the Zionists. For the US and the UK to label Hezbollah as terrorists after what they have done to Iraq

Hezbollah doesn't have much to do with the Palestinian territories, as they are Lebanon based.

I don't see how bombing civilian targets in Europe and around the globe helps either Palestinians or freedom.

No one prevents Hezbollah or Iraqi people to dub the USA and the UK as terrorists. The Hezbollah indeed refers to them as such.

And anyway, USA and UK inflicting damage on Iraq was bad, ok....what does is have to do with Hezbollah?

The Rohinga people in Myanmar originated from Hezbollah fighters that entered the Country to try and establish a Muslim state when the British vacated about 60 odd years ago. The Burmese Army overcame them. Maybe some of the ideology has been passed to offspring. Some bleeding hearts would like to see Rohinga refugees settled in Thailand.......I would have thought there was enough trouble here already.

This is complete nonsense, top to bottom. The Rohingya have been around for a little more than 60 years — start 1,300 years ago when traders first met them, and work backward from there. Hezbollah has been around for about 30 years. They are entirely, completely absolutely dissimilar in origin, politics, branch of Islam and more. It would be difficult to imagine two more different items than "Hezbollah" and "Rohingya".

Many thousands of Rohingya are settled very successfully in Thailand, mostly in Bangkok. They are generally known as Arakhanese from the older term for them.

No, that website is called Stop910.com. It is not Thai, or based in Thailand. Nor was any of the three Hezbollah people referenced a Thai. One, by nationality, is Filipino, one is French, one is also European, but did not actually land in Thailand. All three are of Lebanese origin.
