I have been experiencing a couple of problems for some time with Truevisions satellite service. The first is with the PVR supplied by Truevisions. During replaying recorded programs the picture screen goes black for several seconds and when the picture returns the replay has advanced for seconds or minutes . I can go back and replay the missing portions so I do not miss any content but it is annoying to have to do this constantly. Is anyone else experiencing the same problem? Second problem - on History channel H2 the sound cuts out for a second or two before resuming . Again, tolerable but annoying. Others having same situation? I have notified Truevisions several times but apparently they cannot fix these two problems.

When the screen goes black you have about 2-3 seconds to press "pause", upon which the PVR has a chance reset the buffer or something, but ultimately the program won't skip forward.

I suffer from the very same issue. Yes, it's a buffer problem which tends to happen when I watch a recorded program whilst another recording is taking place. The best way is to quickly grab the remote and hit "pause" and then play, as CanInBkk suggested above.
