Reporters revealed that there were hundreds of cars that had queued at the ferry quay to Koh-Chang island during the weekend of (19-20 April) even though Song Kran festival had finished. There are still many interesting places to visit such as Na-Had sea view resort, Ban Kai-Bae, Koh Mun Nok, Koh Mun Nai. These places can attract lots of tourists especially Koh Mun Nai when there is a low tide people can walk across to it Both Thais and foreign tourists also like to go to view point and take photos.

Klong Plu waterfall is also an interesting place which tourists like to go although the water flow is low at this time of the year. Mr Chalong Phanthunakhin-the chief officer of Klong PLu waterfall- had ordered the replacement of the old pontoons with new ones to ensure the safety of tourists during high water levels. He said that a foreigner had died in the waterfall some years ago. He added that tourists like to go Klong Plu waterfall during hot weather. During Song Kran festival there were 1,000 tourists per day and 500 tourists per day after Song Kran. However they need to replace the pontoons which were damaged in order to prevent tourists sliding off. It’s expected that the water level will rise in the middle of May.

So that would explain the rip off prices for Khlong PLu waterfall then.whistling.gif

Seriously, this is no news, and most people in the industry here on Koh Chang have reported a poor season in general - and I am talking Hotels, Restaurants etc. There has been an influx of low value tourists , i.e those that don't really spend much in the local establishments.

Songkran and the following week are always busy at the ferry terminals.
