I already have a Bkk Bank ac, but would like to spread the risk, so want to open an account in a different bank. Any recommendations? Kasikorn looks good to me, but is there a better?

Thanks.

kbank is quite tolerant of foreigners so its a good choice

i tried a TMB and got refused but it varies ftom branch to branch

whether banks will even accept farangs ,what accounts they can get

and what documents is needed to open a bank account ..........

The Branch office where you open your bank account is important... Many branch offices will refer you back to your initial branch if you have issues - like losing an ATM card or updating information and documents...Check out the branch office and rate how their service and their ability to work with foreigners... Also look at the availability of ATM where you live...

As said above, it a lottery really, no two branches of any bank are the same, best to go try and see how you feel.

Kbank is my choice.

What risk? Unless you have more than 50 million Baht with them, your money is protected. See http://www.dpa.or.th/main.php?filename=index___EN

(That limit will decrease in the future. See link for details.)

Protected by who?

If the corrupt politicians crash Thailand nothing is protected
