Car delivery Bangkok to Phuket?

Featured Replies

I am looking to buy a 2nd hand car in Bangkok but have little time to drive it down to Phuket where I live. Are there any trustworthy delivery services that could either drive the car down or arrange transportation by train or by auto transporter truck.

Any comments or advise would be gratefully received.

A friend and I swapped our cars Bangkok >Phuket and the flatbed service was 25K which was much better than the normal one way rate of 20K.

The Thai Post angle is interesting bkkjames. Do you have any more info on this?

I may have jumped the gun - I know they ship motorbikes, but not sure about cars.

OP is it a nice car - ferrari,,porche? If so I would take it on a run for a small fee and return ticket ;)

Thanks for the comments. Yes I have heard that motorbikes can be posted, but the weight limit is 200KG's. The flatbed deal is a great deal, but sadly I'm just one way.

P.S ... Nothing too fancy being delivered (-;

Best bet is to talk to a local new car dealer and check to see if their next shipment down of new cars isn't completely filled up. I've heard that the empty trucks returning back to BKK will take your car for about 5K in case you need to send it back up to BKK once you've got it in Phuket.

An excellent idea Steelepulse. Thank you very much!

Flatbed delivery is VERY expensive. I know because I transported a collector car of mine exactly from Phuket to Bangkok some years ago. The Post Office only delivers bikes, not cars. I used to pay someone to sometimes drive my cars between Bangkok and Phuket because I had homes in both places, but that was a family member I trusted. I would suggest getting a taxi driver who doesn't own his own taxi and make a private deal with him, let him take the bus back.

Good idea but backloads dont come any cheaper when fully insured. Think Insurance first...thumbsup.gif
