thesetat2013
with the lunatic Suthep and the Mad Doctor running around I would be scared also, as Suthep says you are either with us or against us no in between. Can't oust the government so start popping off the opposition in the final push. You are really jumping to conclusions with this one. Your red is showing a lot here. Nobody has even accused Suthep for killing that poet. If anything an outlandish accusation saying the Army did it would be more approptiate but it would still be jibberish. That poets killer could be anyone who was offended at him speaking badly about the king. Why do you think the Red leaders all are scared it could happen to them? They all have preached against the king and spoken out about secession. Im sure even PDRC haters who love and respect the king would want to do bad to those who speak against the king. Popular Post khunken
Anyone who has read my posts knows that I am not red-shirt friendly. My profound dislike is for the mercenary leaders and violent agitators including those who cheer the killing of innocent children. But I disagree strongly that the poet somehow deserved to be executed because of his politics - assuming that was the reason. As for blaming Suthep - just demonstrates how hate overrides any sort of rational thinking. No doubt there are those instigating execution-style murder on both sides but it does not help to condone the killings or make outrageous allegations of 'who done it'.

MGP
hahahahaha, this has to be the biggest laugh yet and foot in mouth move by the red. After throwing/firing grenades and killing kids and women, shooting indiscriminently at protesters and leaving bombs at the homes/offices of anyone that opposes the red ideals they are now saying they are worried they are being tergetted. Seems that when the reds start getting some of their own medicine(if it even was that)they start to sh*t themselves, typical of a group of thugs, its only good when they are doing the killing, not when they are the ones being targetted. +1 My family and friends in Chaengwattana are also insecure with all those frequent grenade attacks.
AleG
To protect himself, Sombat now goes to public venues less often, refrains from observing People's Democratic Reform Committee rallies in person Sombat, my hero, I don't go to those nasty rallies anymore, it's dangerous. It doesn't stop me from advocating violence against the anti government people though. I wonder how many monk beaters will attend Jatuporns party now, you can practically see the gears working in old Somchais head, "wait a minute, if it's too dangerous for the leaders why should I go? The 500 baht, I need the money, that's why." Not that I know much about Sombat Boongnam, but what I've seen of him he has never advocated violence, in fact he always struck me as a reasonable and articulate person; it's a bit of a mystery to me why he sticks with the Red Shirts though. If you know of any instances of him following the line of the more thuggish side of Red Shirt leadership please share.
Pimay1
I would have thought that insecurity would be the least of most red shirt leaders' mental health problems. At first glance I thought the same thing. Then I looked up the proper definition of insecure. Whereby I found out “unstable” is a synonym of insecure. Therefore in my opinion insecure fits the bill quite well. unstable: prone to psychiatric problems or sudden changes of mood. unbalanced, of unsound mind, mentally ill, deranged, demented, disturbed, unhinged, volatile, informal kooky. Can't oust the government so start popping off the opposition in the final push. Come on ! That's a load of bs and you know it, oh yeah, it's Chooka so as usual then..... I would be far more worried about the hand grenades thrown by the red terrorists under the commands of the big flaring nostrilled one and the the other one ( Nutter-wat and Jatuporn in case you hadn't guessed ) personally. See, I can used unsubstantiated personally biased rhetoric too. Do you have evidence about who killed the terribly bad at writing poetry 'poet' ? Do you know something even the Thai police don't ? Thought not....
tingtongteesood
Wonderful example of double standards - from a poster who deflects every post against PTP he can and tries to denigrate anyone who dares post against PTP, UDD, reds, Thaksin and his family. Your own posts often contain comments deriding the poster, his style or choice of words - all aimed to deflect and try and create the idea that your posts are somehow reality and have some official sanction. News flash - most people see through the charade and treat comments such as "Typical nasty little post" with the contempt they deserve. Must be hard spending so much time and effort trying to defend the undefendable and relying on insulting the poster or deflecting the thread. Next Hahahahahahaha typical !!! I'm sure you're aware of the other details on this case, and so would know that they governor is way too lazy to make such malicious accusations by himself. This was more about others breaking elections rules and him possibly benefiting. More an issue of being responsible by virtue of his position. He is not charged with "Cheating" as you posted. It's not a biggy, perhaps, but does seem like twisting the facts, or presenting a partial argument using just details that suit the argument. You're free not to accept it, of course. rabas
Thailand is a Buddhist country so maybe we should listen to what The Buddha taught about killing and its consequences. "There is the case where a disciple of the noble ones, abandoning the taking of life, abstains from taking life. In doing so, he gives freedom from danger, freedom from animosity, freedom from oppression to limitless numbers of beings. In giving freedom from danger, freedom from animosity, freedom from oppression to limitless numbers of beings, he gains a share in limitless freedom from danger, freedom from animosity, and freedom from oppression. This is the first gift, the first great gift — original, long-standing, traditional, ancient, unadulterated, unadulterated from the beginning — that is not open to suspicion, will never be open to suspicion, and is unfaulted by knowledgeable contemplatives & brahmans." — AN 8.39 http://www.accesstoinsight.org/lib/authors/thanissaro/gettingmessage.html In my words people will live in fear of receiving what the have given (or condoned others giving) Applies to everybody and all sides CORRECTION, have you seen the temples? have you seen the chinese gods? the Hindi gods, the tao, shinto, gods? have you seen all the chinese temples? thailand ISNOT A BUDDHIST country anymore if all the followers are BUYING trinkets to ward off .... whatever it is they FEAR, worshiping idols that are clearly not buddahs image. I dont remember Buddah having 100 arms. but i see that in temples often. next to some chinese looking dude. so, dont lie to me when you say thailand is a buddhist country. ... Santika had a GIANT cross inside the building and on the dance floor, so was it a church? nope. its only death now. BUT, i do agree with you and Buddha's teachings. SAD thing is ... nobody cares. except to save their face. in todays mind, money trumps happiness. .. i only hope i am wrong about what will happen. If your idea of reincarnation is right. we will see alot more dogs on the street. ( i honestly like dogs and think they are the best loyal pets ever) Unlike a thai. Thailand is a very Buddhist country. I don't contest your understanding of Buddha's teachings but you certainly cannot judge what is in the hearts and minds of a people by sticking your nose in a temple and looking what is on the walls. That's what tourists do. I've been here forever and I'm part of a very huge family, all Buddhist including at least 2 real monks, even the youngest generation takes Buddhism very seriously. Not only are the people Buddhist, but Buddhism is deeply woven throughout the society and culture. Your quick observation that they have other idols including Christ sitting around say nothing about Buddhism except how openly accepting their culture is of other ideas and people. Rejection and hatred of others' religious views is more a Western point of view. Along with those statues and idols, did you happen to notice the occasional image of a semi clad young lady selling soap or motorcycle parts? I imagine seriously religious westerners would be aghast, but to them why not?, it's a lovely human form. Their complete lack of Western cultural prejudice is one of the greatest gifts you can receive here. Their open acceptance of others extends to you, or at least your nose and other odd Western features. So the next time you are in a temple, just wai politely at which ever symbols you find nice, and don't worry about others' intolerance and prejudice, your in Thailand, enjoy. Oh, and don't mistake their horrible politics for Buddhism.

Why are you offended? You know nothing of either Kamol Duangphasuk or Dylan Thomas. Obviously, you're quite wrong. If you cannot understand why the picking of this poem seems odd in context of Kamol's politics, I suggest you give it some more thought. Can't help you much further as it would probably breach forum rules. Both Thomas and Kamol being called poets, does not really make their poetic and literary contribution quite the same. As you claim I know nothing about Kamol, I'll refrain from talking certain issues concerning his character, conduct etc etc.... Wouldn't want to ruin the poetical imagery, would we?
