Two members of ATM Theft Gang arrested by Pattaya Police

PATTAYA:--On Friday afternoon Police announced they had arrested the alleged leader of the ATM Theft Gang who is suspected of stealing nearly 3 Million Baht from an ATM on the Sukhumvit Road in Jomtien on 28th April and a 17 year old accomplice. A 23 year old man and a fourth man whose identity is unknown are still outstanding.

Police Major General Katcha, the Provincial Police Commander, led a reconstruction of the alleged crime at the ATM in Jomtien with the alleged gang leader, Khun Atit aged 33, who took Police through the incident step-by-step as a Police Officer photographed the reconstruction for evidential purposes.

A further suspect, aged 17, was not present at the reconstruction and his brother, Khun Suksan aged 23 is still outstanding along with a fourth suspect.

The arrest of Khun Atit took place on Thursday but was not announced to the media for 24 hours as this may have compromised the investigation according to the General.

In Thailand...if they go for the money first...there is little motivation to go after the suspect...kudos to the police...for having their priorities straight..."most of the money" may be found later...
