Violent Thailand clashes feared in 'final all-out battle' with government

BANGKOK: -- Bitterly opposed Thai political groups are set to rally in Bangkok, stoking fears of violent clashes, as the crippled Pheu Thai government pushes ahead with plans for an election in July.

Anti-government protest leader Suthep Thaugsuban has declared a “final all-out battle” against the government beginning Friday morning after Thailand’s Constitutional Court forced prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra from office in a controversial ruling on Wednesday.

Pro-government Red Shirts, mainly from north and north-eastern provinces, will rally in the city 24 hours later in what they say will be their strongest show of force since Thailand’s political crisis began last November.

The stand-off comes amid rumours of a military coup and accusations by Pheu Thai that another form of a coup is already under way through the courts, which they say threatens to derail the country’s democracy.

Pheu Thai legal expert and strategist Bhokin Bhalakula said action taken against Ms Yingluck in the courts adds weight to the party’s insistence that efforts were being made to overthrow the democratic system.

“This is a new form of coup, which is built to foster the new ruling system,” he said, adding the public should oppose the “conspiracy” by conducting demonstrations and filing complaints and lawsuits.

What final clash?

The final battle was already over yesterday, and SUTHEP won.

Yingluck loose face and already packing (for Dubai I guess).

He did promise that when yingluk is gone, the demo's would be over, just another lie and the morons who follow this evil little worm keep sucking it up.

Patience my friend, they need to drive one more stake thought the corpse's heart today.

This has always been the endgame scenario.

Yingluck's deft hand was the only thing that delayed Sutheps bloodlust from eventuating much, much sooner.

Now that she's gone Thailand and Thais are going to suffer a great deal.

How we all will regret the day the silly corrupted and crooked courts were allowed to remove the only stable, level headed voice of reason in the land from the drivers seat.

Good luck to all those brave (or foolish) enough to hit the streets in the coming days and weeks to defend democracy.

Someone please explain to Adolf Suthep what the word "Final" means as he has said this about 10 times already since October. He's also said he'd kill himself on 3 seperate occasions if he "didn't achieve victory" by a certain date, and unfortunately didn't stick to those promises.

Fortunately though he's losing scores of supporters who now see past his BS when he refuses to accept anything besides having himself in office. He stated himself after Yinglucks departure that no appointed PM will be accepted by him, the new PM has to be chosen from a list of people he provides.

Lmao, this guy is a psychopath, no 2 ways about it.

IMHO in ltd experience over two centuries hereabouts is the local listeners are impressed by who can tell the largest most incredible whoppers.

Absolutely irrefutable nonsense is asserted as fact, incredible facts ,meaningless statistics and ridiculous non rebuttal or even acknowleding is the plot of this pantomime while the string pullers switch the marionettes. It is avery dirty game at odds with the compassion preached by the golden beggars.

Modern technology with the ability for the ordinary person to be well informed at the speed of light has had exactly the opposite outcome. A brief glance at a local Library reveals the squalor of a failed society.

This article would be balanced if they printed more than just Pheu Thai/UDD's fantasy that democracy is being threatened by the judicial system. It's a premise that should be challenged and represented in print. That also is part of the story. This is something that Khaosod would do, and they're no model. The process of law is a vital part of any democracy. Don't expect Pheu Thai and the UDD to bring that up any time soon, however. They have never had respect for the courts. Surely foreign publications have picked up on that by this point.

Un-fortunately people have short memories , to weigh up all that matters lets reflect back to 2004 , I notice not a lot has changed.

Don't you worry Suthep. You're gong to get your "all out battle" this time.

Every step of the way, nothing has been good enough for the yellow shirts. All they want is the old order.

Parliament being dissolved wasn't enough, they demanded elections then did an about face, elections are again called and it's not enough, Yingluck being forced out of politics wasn't enough they just want control.

Shame on anyone from an educated society who couldn't see what the aims of the yellow shirts were all along.

Well what they and anyone else not brainwashed by the PTP have always wanted is the latter OUT. Step by step is the surest-fire way in these parts, one doesn't need to be from 'an educated society' to get it.

For the record, I'm not yellow or red but can easily discern the baddies from my vantage point. Can you?

From the beginning, Suthep and the PDRC ask for the politic eradication of the Thaksin regime!

And that is far from being done!

The problem lies with both sides, suthep is an idiot and doesnt know when to quit and the reds are simply doing what they always do, threaten to kill people. The reds need to tone down their crap and approach this like humans, not neanderthols, all they are capable of is violence as they cannot accept anyone elses decisions even when they are based on fact and law. Suthep simply wants to bignote himself, he needs to realize that he accomplished what he started and now is the time to leave it alone. The reds and the yellows both need to be stopped but the police are siding with the yellows and the armed forces are yet to show their hand, time the ptp started taking some responsibility for stirring the pot with their pathetic rhetoric as well, they need to grow up and tell the reds to pull back.

The police are siding with the yellows?.....................did i miss something??huh.png

when the spin cycle has finished someone needs to inspect the smalls and make sure all the stains have been removed of which there were many

They may need to be hand washed and mangled to make sure every stain has been removed

It serves only as an indictment of ignorance or manipulation for any of these luminaries to wax on about a process that is non existent. Democracy has yet to visit this land of manipulation, bribery and corruption and if it should then many of them will find themselves back in the fields or in jail.

She did not loose face at all in fact she looks even better as an honest and beautiful woman in contrast to the bald headed old farts who comprise a court that is now the laughing stock of the international community.

She has not yet been banned from politics and unless she is found guilty which she will be of course over the rice pledge scheme she can come back and win another election as soon as July unless it does not take place which of course it won't. Either way she will not be going to Dubai as she has commited no crimes.
