Quote Rick Bradford: Big Green is now one of the biggest and best-funded networks on the planet,

I wish so much that your are right but it´s still the military/industrial complex. Please also research the political activities of the Koch Brothers (Heritage foundation,Citizen united) then you really know who are the manipulators and the prophets of profit.

In the USA the Republicans and Christian fundamentalists are the biggest deniers of man made climate change.

... and now the simple black and white view:

Intelligent progressive people are aware about the dangers of man-made climate change/poisoning planet earth.

Conservative/christian fundamentalists follow their own agenda and propaganda.

Everyone can decide for himself.

It seems you have a problem with people who have a different opinion than you and you feel the need to classify and vilify them into categories of political and religious affiliations that you disagree with.

It might have occurred to you that people who oppose the hysteria of the climate apocalypse are simply people who have watched the once trustworthy scientific community and their handlers, manipulate data, engage in hyperbolic theorizing about the end of the world, and worst of all - being completely wrong in all their predictions. The computer models are hopelessly flawed. They havent got anything right, and still they cry all the louder, The end is nigh!

If you could demonstrate to us the link between fossil fuel producing nations and a rejection of the warmist agenda; I think you could reason it out for yourself that the results would at least partially be due to the fact that people will resist having their livelihood threatened. This does not make these people the member of any particular religion or political slant. Your opinion is not technically racist, but it smells like intolerance.

If you want to praise the Thai people for their scientific acumen in recognizing the peril of ACC, you go right ahead. For this land is clearly the cradle of sober scientific debate.

Indeed, until the scientific community can prove categorically what has been going on, I reserve judgement. Why did they even need to doctor their data if it was so utterly convincing.

Embarking on subsidy and taxation for things on the back of something that is more likely to be entirely cyclical is a bizarre plan. I drive past a solar farm every day in South Wales.

Yes indeed. A solar farm in south Wales. Ironically built on land owned by the conservative party leader in the welsh assembly. Utter economic insanity, except for the land owner.

Big Green spends far more money on its War Against CO2 than Big Oil or the cash-strapped Koch brothers could ever possibly bring to bear on the matter.

As Paul Driessen noted: "U.S. environmental activist groups are a $13-billion-a-year industry — and they’re all about PR and mobilizing the troops. Their climate change campaign alone has well over a billion dollars annually, and high-profile battles against drilling, fracking, oil sands and Keystone get a big chunk of that, as demonstrated by the Rockefeller assault.

Fortunately, their efforts are like a solar farm in South Wales -- high cost for very little return.

Drought and flood were here before anyone discovered climate change and have been mis-managed for the same amount of time.

The article is not about how long they have been here or how they have been mis-managed. It is about are complete lack of trying to manage it . Even though there is not a lot we can do but we can defiantly do some thing. Interestingly enough a side benefit would be cleaner air and that would mean better health for many.

Climate change has been around since the ice age.
This is true but it is not a reason to not try to let it proceed at it's own pace.

Dear Rick.

it´s possible, that very well hidden, deep down in your heart, you care about this planet and the human race. smile.png

I always try to understand different opinions and learn something new.

You wrote: "U.S. environmental activist groups are a $13-billion-a-year industry."

Why is this a bad thing ? I really don´t get. Why do think, that we are manipulated by some force ?

Maybe there are rich, poor, left, right, believers and atheists who just care about this planet and try something new.

Your opinion sounds a little bit like: man-made climate change doesn´t exists it´s just manipulation from left-wing environmental groups.

What´s wrong with: save energy, find new alternative energy resources, recycle waste, grow organic food, bring more quality in life and less quantity !

I know some of this projects are not successful in a economic sense but you can learn from mistakes.

... and now the famous black and white view

progressive people: try to find new solutions to old problems and are open minded

conservative people: don´t like change and are sometimes a little bit stubborn tongue.png

there is something wrong when companies, manufacturing "alternative energy" plants get government subsidy from taxpayer's pocket. this makes it profitable to spend billions on environmentalist PR. so left-wing media forces governments of "civilized world" to spend money in benefit of environmentalist group of interests. If they would build and sell solar panels without subsidies - nobody would care. But in that case business would not be profitable.

Growing organic food: to grow the same amount of food organically (without pesticides, chemical fertilizers, genetically-modified plants) takes 5 times more resources than normal, which leads to overall rise of prices, so poor people who live for dollar a day or less can't afford it. it's technically impossible to feed the whole population with organic food, so lets feed only Western middle class and elites? Don't you think it smells like fascism?

in this system: organic businessmen get their profits, environmentalism - brainwashed hipsters get satisfaction from the idea they are so modern, so environment friendly, so caring of their health, but somebody on the other side of the globe will die of starvation.

in fact there is absolutely no evidence that genetically-modified plants are harmful.

on the other hand its good to:

1) invent more energy-saving technological processes

2) recycle waste

Are you posting about Thailand on a Thai forum, or a liberal politically correct US hipster party?
