Soldiers 'surround' Thai pro-government rally: protest leader

The military needs to prove their "neutrality" by also surrounding the yellow camps. whistling.gif Otherwise, it is a total farce.thumbsup.gif

really? and how many times have the reds been attacked with hand grenades? actually how many times have the reds ever been attacked.. compared to how many times the anti gov been attacked?

the anti gov are violent because of a reaction to danger. if you walk through the rallies you will know the difference. ever been in a war zone? the post thats always attacked will always be on high alert. and the villages hiding the attackers will be more relaxed becasue they go OUT to attack. but it sound like you live in the city so youre only been inconvienced by the anti gov. aweee... do you have traffic problems? that must really suck and ruin your day.

have you seen the red camp on Aksa Road? the thaksin Red banners and projection TV every 20meters? its right out of a hitler movie or 1984.

power is meaningless, life is important. those who want power or money will never value life. no matter what color shirt or underwear they wear.

How about people who simply wanted to act our their right to vote being attacked by members of the PDRC???

Correct, including innocent government staff like my girlfriend who got harassed and physically manhandled by the PDRC when she was just trying to do her job.. oh and get 500 baht in over time.. wink.png

I think you need to re read his post - in fact I think you need to re read a lot of peoples posts!! twice should be enough!!

Perhaps you should actually read my first post. My stance is clear in that I no way favour either particular party or movement but I am just concerned that people forget those particular scenes and underestimate those particular acts of violence. Violence is one thing and absolutely outrageous in it's own right.. but denying people their right to vote is just morally wrong, don't you think?

Seems to me that far too many people on this board really have no insight or understanding of thai politics and society. This storyline is slow but is absolutely on script, the shins over extended their corrupt governance. The issue was and is how to end this shin farce.

It looks to me like the senate are going to try and install a PM , so the Army have declared Marshall law to try and nip any red reaction in the bud

Disgraceful if that's the case , they should be rounding up the people who stopped others from voting

Everything seems to go against the principles. Mr. Army, shouldn't you start out surrounding the protesters who caused chaos for the past 6 months first? You don't seem to hide your true color at all which side you're standing with.

NO, they are surrounding the protesters who instigated the shootings and murders of innocent people, including children - or have you chosen to forget these facts, or maybe you are with the camp who cheered these murders.

To be confirmed.

Looks strange to me.

Like any normal human being I hate Thai army but I don't think they would dare to bother the Reds without bothering the Royalists. It would be the proof of the double standard.

Double standard now => The today's winners will lose for ever in the future.

You think normal human beings hate the army?

You need professional help.

No problem with seeing this, but will they do the same with the PDRC anti-gov protesters?

Heck no...they are on the same side

I see that finally the powers that be-once more- deployed the nuclear option.

The reds will be angry as hell.....and with good reason.

Of course they will be angry, as they are being paid by the camel herder to create trouble including murder of innocent people including children and now can't undertake the task as instructed.

If they are angry as hell - bad luck - only the red nosed hugs really care and at the end of the day they don't count.

The army intel should have gather some important informations. Hence, martial law is activated to prevent loss of innocent lives (again).

Who is the one keep threatening to use violence? Who has the track record of using violence? Who has been caught lately with weaponry?

There is a red politician been caught with weapons driving a chiangmai number plate car into Bangkok. The worst part is the on duty uniform guys reported higher ranking police officer and high ranking govt officer ordered the weapons and vehicle return back the owner.

Any decent guy hearing upon this will know this is totally not right.

There surely must have a significant group of watermelon soldiers in the army brigade but they are also the common thai citizens. They have their own family, love one isn't it? They may have been in favour of the red party but I believe they are still a decent man with a conscience heart. They will remember the pledge for the nation as a soldier. They are on the actual ground. They saw the reality, they know what going on, they can see the terrorism activating again. What will the red watermelon soldiers do if terrorism is done on their own family? As a soldier, a man, a good guy, they will stand up and against the terrorism regardless they are colour red, blue, white or yellow.

I will believe the army will always be there for the people.

Coup in progress. Step 1: disperse the Reds, but not the PRDC. Step 2: Senate replaces govt illegally. Coup complete.

You are guessing the PDRC are not being dispersed and stating it as fact.

Further to the above, the military apparently wants protestors to remain at their sites. Suthep has called off today's march, but from what I read, the RS's hadn't and were again asked to do so.

Red shirt supporters: let's not forget what triggered this latest round of protests...

Yingluck tried to push through the amnesty bill at 3am (?), which would have annulled Thaksin's conviction.

Very democratic.

Oh, in an related debate on democracy the other day, someone pointed out that Hitler was democratically elected, so let's try to think deeper than "we need an election now", and set the scene with a proper constitution first, to protect the people, maybe a debate or 2, so that something a little closer to a true democracy can be achieved.

"The army has ordered protest groups to remain at their respective sites and remain peaceful"

I was right.

Obvious double standard is a suicide for the Royalists.

Hmmm self righteous as well. You haven't improved since your earlier posts and jumping in feet first before finding out what is going to happen later today, is not a trait to be proud of.

Cap, you forgot Step 3: Civil war begins sad.png

Today's declaration of coup step 1 is to announce to the Reds that they can forget positioning themselves at Rachaprasong this time to interfere with the transfer of power back to the ammart. I don't think the Reds believe they can fight the army itself.

Even Jatuporn said "its not a coup".

Why is it that never every post with the word "ammart" in it is written by a nut? There isn't going to be a civil war either, that's just crap.

Why is it that even high ranking members of the Dem party said vote buying has no effect on the outcome of election(not to mention independent international observers) yet all we hear on TVF is about vote buying etc?

One of the dictionaries describes the word "coup" as -

"a brilliant or successful stroke or action"

If what you say in your post is true I would describe it as both ! clap2.gif

There's an awful lot of "we know what the army is/is not going to do next' - from mainly red variety clueless posters.

The army have announced that both sets of protestors can remain in place. Gullibility is required to believe a red shirt leader who says the army has 'surrounded their protest'. Then we have the coup forcasters, even using steps only obtained from a crystal ball. To top it off we have those who 'know' that the senate 'will' instal an interim PM.

It's all BS of the highest order. Follow the news as it occurs: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/685660-breaking-news-sms-alerts-from-thaivisa-the-nation/

Your point is well taken so I would only add that Suthep and the PDRC have their attack lines and will spout their attack lines until the end, regardless and irrespective or any or all responses by the democrats at TVF or of when the end might occur. The point being that if you simply say the identical thing long enough and many many times over, repeatedly ad infinitum, it becomes familiar and therefore the perceived truth. It's a familiar and dastardly principle.

I've taken the approach of advising the PDRC types to get new lines, as I'd been saying the past two months. It's really and always the very same lines again and again and again, but I'm addressing a propaganda machine, and it's a big and highly programmed machine that streams out a thought through and highly crafted anti-democracy agenda..

Oh, you mean the same old lines like - "amart blah blah blah - elites blah blah blah - fascists blah blah blah - yellows blah blah blah"................. yes I know what you mean, it does get a bit boring after a few years.

And the last thing the "PDRC types" need is advice from Nero. clap2.gif

Nero! How appropriate. Like it.

Notice that they're still propagating the lie (repeating it often to make it 'the truth) that the Dem party said that vote buying has no outcome on elections - just as the emperor has said. Hypocritical as always.

Depends. but my time frame would be step 3 to 5 within 2 years, step 6 in year 3, step 7 and 8 in year 6 or 7. So between 2016 and 2020. But this time there could be a curve ball that could stop step 7 and 8 from happening.

Scenario 2: The Yellows takeover and spend their time on reforming nothing (they must look as if they are reforming but nothing will happen, no educational reform, no land reform, no decentralisation and no judicial reform). After a while the people that fought their battles (the southern poor) will realise they have been misused (again). The reds hatred for the yellows will continue to ferment. Then a 3 year drought hits (El Nino) the rural poor are hit hard and the yellows don't provide support to these farmers as they aren't their power base and are considered uneducated, dirty and buffalo's etc. Food prices start to spiral due to the drought. At the same time the world economy takes a severe dive and Thailand's exports decline leaving millions unemployed. An important person pass away and the politicians are so busy trying to get their person in position that they don't give attention to the growing unrest. The poor unite due to starvation and forget who is red and yellow. The lower ranks in the army revolt, because their families a starving. Step 8 is then replaced by a revolution instead of a coup. LOL

No problem with seeing this, but will they do the same with the PDRC anti-gov protesters?

You can really ask this question with a straight face?

1. The army will disperse the Red's and chase/arrest them out of Bkk.

2. The army will take over the Police and Government.

3. The army will appoint a new Government according to the demands of the PDRC.

End of the story.
