Paying True Visions for single screen shot during coup

I am not able to find any of the many topics on point. Please redirect this if you feel there is a more appropriate place.

Even if full access is sooner or later restored by the coup makers, as a large individual user of True Visions with 3 fully paid subscriptions due our many solid needs, thinking about the next True Vision bill soon to come (see an example attached), I will be expected to pay the company THB 2,652 for absolutely nothing.

What are you folks doing about your own bills for complete (or even partial) service?

If we subscribers pay on time or even late, there will be no reasonable authority to appeal to for a refund.

Do we have the right to deduct payment for the days/weeks etc. of lost viewing?

What if True vision subscribers stop paying for non-service during this coup-time? The deep pockets at True Visions will have far more clout to recover from the Military than would we as individuals.

Does anyone have a reasonably better plan other than just cancelling the service? Not just the maids and wives will be upset if we cancel. We will later have to pay for re-installation. When/if service is restored, we might then can get some timely news of other than Thailand crisis, unless those in operations (parental) control think that too will be harmful to their aspirations and goals

Please, offer realistic and on-topic responses only.

Just read at http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/728560-all-free-tv-stations-except-tpbs-to-resume-normal-broadcast-this-evening/?utm_source=newsletter-20140524-0738&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=news that a few Thai language only "free" channels will be allowed to start broadcasting from Saturday.

Thanks for your comments to just keep paying US$ 82 a month as an additional cost of living. As between we consumers and the operators, surly the operators (who are they - do you know -) are better able to argue for resumption of service, and may need the incentive of lost revenue to do just that.

If all invoices are paid, where is there any incentive for the business operators to do more than... count our money in their accounts. Good well and fellowship whistling.gif

Then go ahead an cancel it and then pay the reconnection fee a month from now. Whatever makes you happy.

Joe, you are far too easily impressed if you think that was the reason for attaching the bill. Or you watch your TV at the local bar between your booze and smoke. I asked for ONLY responsible replies, but then it's noon so perhaps you've been into your cups for a few hours already.

Guys, if you've not ever before been in a consumer awareness program to resolve a consumer problem, this is a simple and good time to start.

Removing the tube annoys and hurts many, as do most of the Coup '06 and now the Coup '14 polices!

Perhaps there is no activism interest for bottom feeders and couch potatoes. But paying $82 a month for nothing is not trivial here or anywhere. That is real money and equal to 25% of an average University Grad's first pay check in CM.

But if you guys are like Joe and so inactive towards making an effort for even simple corrections, then who can blame our Thai friends and families for showing little backbone either.

Thanks again, Joe. As a Four Bullet Point blogger, you must be quite a guy! clap2.gif

True (and CTH) just restarted in the last couple of hours - except for some of the International news channels.

So, off the air for approx. 36hours = Bt125 rental cost.

Good luck with your refund claim.

If you receive the signal via satellite, who do you claim from when the signal is lost due to rain?? Or power cuts, etc,........? There must be at least a couple of Bahts worth of claims there per month.

This is Thailand, don't sweat the small stuff!!

I figure it's bit less than that, say 75 Baht but definitely not worth worrying about.

No way!

Marshal law says clearlty, that there is no compensation for damages resulting from marshal law.

They can tear your house down if its in the fireline.

They can confiscate your truck if they lack some means of transport.

and so on
