I filed my Thai tax return on March 18th and was entitled to a refund.

I still have not received my refund.

Normally, how long does it take to receive?

Is there anybody I can call or can I go back to the tax office to inquire?

Thank you

I've filed here in Bangkok for the past two years...first year the refund took 6 weeks...this year it took 4 weeks. Probably time you followed up with your tax office.

Its much faster if you file online (need a Thai to help if you can't read the Thai documents), and do it as soon as you get your paperwork from your employer. March 18 is quite late, so there may be a backlog.

First time I filed manually I got told 3 months for manual filing at the office - don't know if this still applies. Online is quicker at around a month

In practice it's usually quicker than 3 months. I filed around the same time as you this year - perhaps a bit later. I had my cheque about 2 weeks ago.

Depends on the amount and how important it is to you. If small and not important give it a bit longer. If larger and important follow up. If not to far away I'd go in person and talk to where you filed, as it's much easier face to face with your receipts/ docs. (I'm assuming you didn't file online as in that case you should already have it! But If you did file online there's a website link you can track the progress)

Cheers

Thank you for your replies.

The amount of the refund is 23,192 baht

I will give it another week and then go back to the tax office

I did not file online

Thanks again
