adcash.com, malware, redirect or possible virus

Featured Replies

three anti virus and anti malware pgms are not flagging or reporting any malware

i disabled all of the extensions and pluings in the browsers that i use, except ghostery

it is obvious via the ghostery pgm that one computer has malware that is trying to direct or redirect me to adcash.com and other sites too (primarily through pop ups i think but it looks like ghostery disables/blocks them, though firefox blocked some as well)

i also notice an unusual amount of 100% cpu usage, this is new

there are many hits on google when i started to research

so i thought i might post here for a simple easy and fast solution (as if)

i actually did have a redirect virus that was flagged and hopefully removed but after my research on rootkits, it is hard to be sure what malware is lurking or bundled

It appears to be a redirect virus with google chrome mentioned in most of the reports.

A free program called "Yet Another Cleaner" aka YAC claims to be able to cure it.

It's available as a free 11.28Meg download from Download dot com

Use MalwareBytes Cleaner - there is an option in settings to turn on Rootkit detection.
