Popular Post Ulysses G.
They are usually trying to lift your wallet, so no tip necessary. Edited June 17, 2014 by Ulysses G.
kurnell
They are usually trying to lift your wallet, so no tip necessary. Now I'm confused. My wallet is in the back pocket, but my p-thaing is in the front. What are they really looking for?
Jingthing
Be careful about assuming it's actually tipping, my dudes. Par exemple going from Jomtien to north Putz-aya row-d you'd often be expected to spoon over the BIG 20 face smackers... or else!!!! So don't be judgin'. Lancelot
Agreed, and whilst at it, stop wai'ing the bellboy, shop assistant and the street food vendor, it makes us all appear stupid. I've seen foreigners tipping 7-11 clerks, as a result, many 7-11s in major tourist areas now have tip boxes. We don't appear stupid- we already have that T- shirt

Popular Post Emster23
"I give 100b. That's not even $4. Don't be so tight guys." Do you pay 100 for white rice from stand? 100 for a coke at 7/11? bus back in hometown USA costs $1.25 last time I looked. When you overpay like that, it causes market distortion. Word gets around fast. Like giving you live in "girlfriend" 50k a month, other girls find out.... then all the rest of us get grief due to your "generosity". Ever try getting a standard 10baht ride during some event? Good luck. Lines of them waiting for some dude with more money than brains.... If you've been here 15 years I would suggest you think of more than just yourself and what a wonderful person you are for paying far too much.
Jingthing
Regular riders do not pay a 100 baht fare for a 10 baht cattle truck bus ride. But for those who wish to do such an absurd thing ... do carry on. Also keep in mind typical journeys involve multiple fares to reach a destination ... Popular Post bkkden
Yermanee is absolutely right! I tip anytime I receive friendly, polite and better than expected service. That is my business alone. (Btw, I give the flight attendants on every flight I take a box of Chocolates too. You always get a lot more in return that what you give)! VocalNeal
As baht buses are for poor people, am suprised they can affordto tip Baht buses are the best thing about Pattaya. Brilliant. Easy to use, go most places along the beaches and back even Jomtien and Naklua. They are what makes Pattaya a user friendly place much easier that Hua Hin , Sanui or Phuket. Just have some change in your pocket that is the key.
