Proxy--do you use

Featured Replies

Now that things are changing a little........ Are people getting / using a proxy server?? I noticed my Daughters favorite site for Thai movies is blocked--some places I want to go, UK newspapers etc, also the same, Friends tell me some Adult type sites also are....(yer friends, I don't look myself honest....)
I was recommended 3monkys is anyone using that ..... or other recommendations---: would appreciate it. Is a proxy server the same-same as VPN

2nd Blond computer question... I like to watch boxing, so I have go to a lot of Russian sites to download these fights, joining them was a bit of a problem, as I could view them OK through Google translate, but when I actually tried to join them using G.T. they would not , saying that they would not accept registration through a 3rd party or Proxy server. I joined them OK--just went out & got a Russian to show me how.... (There seems to be one on every corner now.....wub.png
but does that mean going through G.T is like going through a proxy server ???

Thanks......

if its a vpn you want i use ZENMATE seems to work ok at least for uk sites sorry if this is not what you require

Please do not discuss the specifics of use of a proxy or VPN to bypass Thai government blocks.

Discussion of how to access geo-location blocked sites (such as BBC iPlayer) is permissible.

OK..... VPN post read.....Mods Point taken on discussion's......... Thank you Gerry123...will try that proxy....

In Saudi a lot of people use TOR browser.

If your internet connection is weak or iffy then a proxy will slow it to an unbearable speed, unless there is a way around this issue.

Can only report little success by using a proxy server. The sites I try to access seem to know if something comes in by way of a proxy server. Access denied as a matter of routine.

Cheers.

Tried Zenmate app for Chrome browser this week.

It doesn't work with BBCIplayer and international download speed was reduced from 2-3mb to 300-400kb.

I have turned off Zenmate and have no plans to use it again.

I have been using Zenmate and Chrome to watch the World Cup and it has been very good. Iplayer, 4OD and ITVPlayer have all been much, much better than trying to watch streams via xbmc.

Daft question maybe, but when you set up in Thailand it automatically routes you through HK, so you wont be able to connect. Did you change it to London?
