I've read all the posts. I still don't get it.

I have a work permit. I have a single entry non b visa - for 90 days. I went to SG to get this, then was to come back and get the one year switcharoo here in BKK.

My project went sideways, no my contract is terminated and my WP will be terminated.

*Will my non b visa terminated on the same day? or do i get to stay until the stamp on my passport which was 90 days from the date i came in on the single entry non b visa? i think i have until august per the stamp.

thank in advance and sorry for the same ol same ol.

If you still are on your 90 dyas you got upon entry (and not on an extension) you can stay until that date (August).

Only extensions of stay from immigraiton within Thailand are affected. If I understand you coorect you did not get an extension yet.

Thank you Mario,

My entry on single entry non b was May 16. Until date is 13 august. My wp will be cancelled on July 15.

So I'm good til august 13?

Got married today so can I switch to non o now?

Thank you for the help!

You cannot switch to a non-o nor do you need to. All that is needed is a non immigrant visa entry which you already have.

If you can meet the financial requirements you can apply for a year extension of stay based upon marriage to a Thai. You will need 400k baht in Thai bank in your name only for 60 days or 40k baht income.

You can also get a 60 day extension of stay to visit your wife.

Hi UbonJoe

Gov't on hotline 1111 is telling wife (2 different people):

  • If my firm will cancel my Non B visa, I need to leave the country within 24 hours - exact story my firm told me as well - so I will no longer have the Non B as of July 15 (our agreed upon cancel date for WP and Visa)
  • leave country come back (30 day VOA) - "because you are American"
  • go to immigration and apply for a Non O
  • put 400k baht in bank (won't check first day - they will check back date 60 days when i extend to stay one year)

Just got off the phone with the guy i ride his bus when I have a M Tourist visa to cross borders and he verified they do not do boarder crossings anymore, rather go to Laos. He also said he can get my Non B extended one year for 25K without money in the bank. My funds are spread right now, so will consolidate 400K into one account today for this. Although, if I get a contract out of country, I have to come back within the 30 days, or I assume all bets are off, so this doesn't seem an option to me.

I am reading your posts about Savannakhet. That seems like a better option. Get a Non-O multi entry and don't need to prove financials at this point. Also, do they really have one day service? I would fly up and take bus. If you have advice, it would be greatly appreciated.

They cannot cancel your visa.

Your permit to stay you have from your non-b visa entry will still be good since you never got an extension of stay. I think the people on 1111 did not understand that you just have a visa entry not an extension.

You can get the 60 day extension I mentioned earlier to give you time to get thing sorted out.

And then if you do not have funds to get the one year extension you could go to Savannakhet and get a multiple entry non-o.

Thank you ubonjoe sir.

I will go tomorrow and ask for 60 days. I have put the money in my account so I'm ready for after the 60 days to ask for the extension 1 year based on marriage or whatever. I assume I can go in and out during that one year uninterrupted?

Thank you for your time and patience.

Once you get the one year extension you will need to get a re-entry permit if you want to travel. A single re-entry permit costs 1000 baht and a multiple 3800 baht.

You can apply for a re-entry permit when you get your extension stamp after the 30 day under consideration period. The re-entry permit will be valid for the length of you extension. If you decide you want a multiple re-entry permit that would be a good time to get it.

You can get a re-entry permit at either airport in Bangkok 24 hours a day if you want to.

Hi ubonjoe,

So it appears that I owe you more than a couple of beers. Immigration gave me a 60 day extension without incident - JUST as you said....

AND they told me:

  1. yes, fill out TM 8 for single or multi re-entry if i intend to leave - at CW or BKK, if i get my deal in malaysia
  2. i can go back to CW and get the visa for thai wife (non o) - without leaving country! i asked both ladies - super nice today. bring back all same paperwork i gave today, plus a picture of us in our apartment and picture of outside of apartment and letter from bank for 400K. other papers i turned in where my lease, marriage cert, normal pp copies, her id, tambian baan,
  3. come back for 90 day report - think i can go by my house at major hollywood suksawat for that
  4. i put the money in the bank - 100 baht at bkk bank for the letter to immigration when i go apply (bbk bank says pick up day before)

glad I put my trust in you! way cheaper than paying some scab 25k <deleted>.. or leaving the country since i didn't need to.

YES SIR I did not know i could do this until your advice sir here on thai visa!!! so thank you!!!! this is what this about!

thank you sir, seriously, where should i come drink with or just send the beer lol?

Glad it all worked out for you. Now all you need to do is apply for the one year extension and you will be all set.

You will not have to do a 90 day report until after you do your one year extension. You can do them at Suksawat.
