If it was a single remote I would believe it was misplaced, since it are 2 remotes that are at different locations usual, the chance that they are misplaced at the same time is very small.

I have checked all trousers, all couches, all drawers in the past 2 hours. They are definitely gone.

Can he stand outside your house at night and change the volume and selection on your sound system? tongue.png

Hahahahahahah!

OK Bookie, can't believe I actually read as far as your post in this surreal thread, but apparently I did. Thanks for waking me up so I can move on to something else!

Without going into details I can tell you that I called the guy this morning and had a long chat with him about many things.

At one point I brought the word remotes into the conversation, without even mentioning that I'm missing them, and from the way he replied it was obvious that he was very knowledgeable about my current situation.

I doubt however that he reads this forum.

JF, it's no fun to lose remotes, whatever the cause. My wife knocked one into bin without realizing it and another went through a washing machine cycle. Very frustrating, but nothing compared to what you've gone through recently. ND has been the cliche-master on this thread, but I think the one he left out, with all the stuff that's happened tou, is...it's always darkest just before it turns to shit.

Good luck in your quest, I really do hope things turn around for you.

Hello noahvail,

Thankyou for your kind words Sir. It would seem I always excel on the topics that relate to mental illness, not sure what that means ;)

Actually I note there are several posters that seem to pop up everythime the phrase is mentioned, MrToad seems to be a real specialist, I believe he has a special room down at the assulymn.

I strongly believe these little 'tests' such as Jesse's dilema are sent to us as a form of character building. They are merely preparing us for the 'main RODGERING' which tends to come alone when one least expects it. I know you know exactly what I am talking about.

You keep smiling :)

Anyway, Jesse didnt need the 3000 baht or the time lost sourcing the new equipment, moreso without the theft Jesse wouldnt of benefited from wise words of advice from people such as you and me....... 3000 baht is cheap really :P

Jesse may get some relief in knowing that the remote theif will get 1000 times worse that this as repayment for his nasty deed. I sincerely hope that the fleas from a million camels infest his armpits, that'll teach the light fingered little b@stard.

This thread is not even remotely funny..

Its good to see you up and about after the big operation. Ive been told that Those 'personality bypass' operations can really knock people around.

Best of luck to you ;)

Well he's certainly pushed Jesse's buttons.

Jesse, I recommend you go through the right channels with this.

He did, young M, he did.

He came here to TVF and immediately lodged a new thread outlining his difficulties. He has now set the wheels in motion for a good and proper bollocking from evil pr1cks like you and me.

What possessed you to let someone walk around your house who you didn't know, or have an address for?

I have his address and contact details, but accusing him not gonna help isn't it ?

The remotes are so small that you can hold them in your handpalm without anyone noticing, so easily picked up when I turn my back.

You have his address, go get him on his own, tell him you are going to count to ten, if he does not give them back to you in that time, or tells you where they are, give him a good hiding, then tell him you will keep finding him on his own, and keep giving him a good hiding until he gives them back to you.

If you think you are unable to handle him then pay a couple of Thai guys (you may need six) to sort him out.

No, its mentally ill foreigners ranting on Thai Visa !

So you say I'm mentally ill ?

You are a moderator aren't you ?

Yes, well observed, the clue is in the bright red letters under the name.

Moderators are also forum members and often participate in threads as being part of the forum community.

But they should behave in the same way as other members, and that is not to flame other members.

I'm sure that if CharlieH has been flaming any TV members, then he will give himself a holiday.

.

He means the tank of water behind most toilets. I don't think the thief would try a flush them; too big a risk. BUT he might throw them in the tank.

~

Trust me I know the difference.

I would not lower myself to get into any such kerfuffle. I'd just send Mrs. ATF around to give him and his Mrs. a good pistol whipping.

Now that would be worth 3000 Baht!

I see you all have fun and a good time, but sorry to break it for you boys, but I really don't feel funny.

I'm really astonished that there can be such sick puppies around who enjoy taking something with which they can't do anything only to deprive the owner.

JesseFrank, this is definitely the OP of the year, you have given us some excellent entertainment and even the mods have got involved, I know it is no joke when someone steals from you, but you have done well here, try and cheer up.

Two new remotes sounds like a cheaper solution, although not the same level of entertainment.

As I said I called him yesterday, but won't go into details, and from what he told me during the lengthy conversation it is clear that karma has set in already.

Yes, but think of the satisfaction you would get.

It's obvious that someones misery sells better than someones luck on this forum.

Oh so true Jesse. Bad news sells more newspapers than good, it's a fact of life.

Do keep us updated on the Great Pattaya Remote Robbery, movie rights anyone?

How about a reward from Thaivisa for bringing this well needed traffic to the forum ?

Just be left wondering, what will the thief take when he comes back next time?

This is an absolutely hilarious thread. Some of you guys crack me up. I really have been laughing out loud. Thanks. I needed that.

My experience with thieves and burglars is they frequently come back.

My house was robbed while I was at work. I drove home, parked my car in the driveway and called the police. While chatting to the policewoman on the telephone I mentioned to her that I thought it was strange they took my spare set of car keys.

She asks, "Where is your car now?"

I replied, "It's in The driveway."

She says, "Put the phone down and go check."

It was gone.

The OP will find his remotes as soon as he stops looking for them. That's how I find stuff. I stop looking and it appears.

edit: just finished the thread. Looks like The OP knows whodunnit.

A movie would be great idea.

I would suggest Jesse also throws his toothbrush away.

I remember hearing about a break in, in Australia, many years ago. A couple of days after a house was broken into the owner was re-organising his cupboards that had been ransacked and he found his camera. He was overjoyed that it hadnt been stolen and quickly turned it on to check it still worked and hadnt been broken or damaged.

At this time, he decided to take a few photographs of the house and the mess left behind after the break in. Whilst doing this he finished the roll of film, removed it from the camera and later dropped it past the photoshop to have it developed. A few days later he went to pick the photographs up and the man at the shop chastised him about putting illicit photographs into the shop for development, initially the man was perplexed by this and opened the packet of photographs up where he saw a series of photographs (not taken by him)) and being mainly photographs of various tooth brushes from his home. The photographs of the toothbrushes depicted the toothbrushes being inserted into an anus.

UUnfortunately for this man, he and his family had been cleaning their teeth with the toothbrushes, twice daily since the break in.

So Jesse, throw out your toothbrush, if the guy had the chance to steal the remotes, who knows what he did while he was in the bathroom.

I probably should of given you this information the other day. Sorry about that !

Was wondering why the remote didn't work at my house.

Try changing the battery.

Maybe 10 years ago I bought the mother in law an air conditioning unit. Returned a year later to be told it was broken, all staring at me like it was my fault - which of course it was.

Went to shop, bought some batteries, low & behold - hero again !

After I spoke with the guy on the phone yesterday, as mentioned already, I went out and purchased 2 new remotes. Would I do that if I wasn't confident that I wouldn't find them back ?
