The best advice would be to get a good quality one shipped from the UK. I managed to find a converter here a year ago but its very low quality.

If you can't do that, you could try some of the Sony outlets because the original Playstation 2 used to ship with an adaptor that converted scart to the three standard video/left/right stereo outputs.

Good luck

Try your local Amorn shop. I found one there years ago. (In case you don't know, Amorn is kinda like a Thai version of Radioshack. They have branches many places in Thailand)

I saw a shop at Fortune (IT Mall) which specialized in connectors and had a lot of exotic ones. It wasn't in in the main computer area, but rather the shop area (opposite direction of Lotus). I think it was on the second or third floor, near the main group of office elevators. On the fourth floor there is also an Amorn, and I do remember seeing SCART cables there (but for what, I don't know).

Try the electronics shops in China Town, near Merry Kings.

They carry pretty well everything.

Normaly on the pins at the SCART connector you should find sound left and right (like white and red Chinch plug). RGB (RedGreenBlue) signals and the composit signal (like the yellow connector on the TV). So it should be possible. to make the cable yourself, I am sure you find the wiring on the internet.

Some devices do have a scart connector but don't provide the RGB signal (VCR, some DVD-player, the PS2 when you watch movies, you need a modchip to turn on RGB signal).

Went to the Amorn at Fortune.. when i asked about "scart adapter" they looked at me like i was from Mars.

Anyone know anywhere else I can get a scart adapter in bangkok, other than "D O Siam" or China town?

I definitely saw some at Amorn at Zeers Rangsit this week. Don't go asking for it, just go look for it in the audio/video cables section. SCART is rare in Thailand, so it's normal that Thais wouldn't have a clue about it.

I was at Fortune on Saturday... couldn't find any SCART adapters, spent at least 20 minutes, went thru the isles twice... didn't see any.

Amorn on 4th floor.

I discovered that as well recently when speaking to Philips Tech Support in the States. They also hadn't heard of scart adapters out there.
