After my iPad froze I googled and tried everything to fix it. Got nowhere. Took it into the Care Centre in KSK and the boy didn't look hopeful then started going on about a replacement. Here we go thinks I. Anyhoo after buggering about with it for half an hour he fixed it, even returned everything to the last back up.

I get the wallet out and he says no problem, no charge. Good effort fella!

Excellent experience. Are you talking about the one upstairs near the parking garage?

For us, if it's the location near the garage, we'll never go back.

Their services are awful. We dropped off a Macbook for service and when we returned to pick it we discovered before leaving KSK that they'd returned to us the wrong Macbook.

When we took it back to the shop and showed them the problem, the entire staff had a great big "so what" moment with no apology, not a care in the world that they'd given us THEIR OWN in-store laptop (you know the one with all their customer data and records on it).

I'd rather ship something to Bangkok or wait for my next trip down to BKK, to make sure my Apple product gets repaired correctly.

There is absolutely no doubt that different people will have had different experiences. Variously, it might have to do with who was on duty at the shop at the time, and it might have to do with owners' amount of knowledge of computers, especially their own, their ability in the Thai language, and general Thai social skills.

Seems that I recall previous threads blasting away at this shop, which I have not visited in ages. There was a shop on Huay Kaeo Road, as I recall, that was on the north side of the road between the Super Highway and the "Canal Road."

I apologize. I can do no better than that. Search it on TV Chiang Mai

"There is absolutely no doubt that different people will have had different experiences." True, even in other countries.

Perhaps things are changing for the better with Apple here. I have heard that all CM Apple has been sold to the company that owns Apple in BKK and throughout most if not all of Thailand. That is most likely a positive step.

Well same manager as before in KSK service dept but have seen new name on sign in Central Festival of reseller.

My complaint and one I've heard form others is they just replace the expensive logic board for most problems, if that's the issue or not. Another is it takes so long and if you go in there is often nobody working in the back, all out for 2 hr lunches 10 min after a break. They even go out on breaks one min after they open so you wait weeks because they say they are so backed up with work, wonder why??

After replacing 3 new 20,000 bht ea. logic boards (all for free even after the warrantee had run out - my mother taught me "it doesn't hurt to ask") and then I was having the same problem they refused to look at it again, politely mind you as they are always pretty nice there, which was helpful as they said, without saying of course as not to loose face, that they didn't know what do to further. So I called Apple and asked if they would mind sending me a whole new computer even though mine is over 2 yrs old and they said sure. So I should have today or tomorrow a brand new 87,600 bht new Macbook Pro 15" w/Retina screen delivered to my door. Then after a couple of weeks to transfer all my data from my original laptop they will send someone to pick up my old one all for free.

But of course I didn't have my computer sometimes and lots of frustration as I'm not the best at IT but hopefully all's well that ends well!

For those who are interested, the iCare facility at KSK has re-opened. 2nd floor, near the back, across from the Aimstreamnetwork store (adjacent to the parking garage.)
