Thai Visa Changes - What Impact can we expect to see?

So I think everyone knows the recent changes in the visa regulations regarding renewal of tourist visas. Who is it likely to affect and what will the impact be? For regular holiday makers this shouldn't be an issue, just people who stay here long-term on tourist visas by exiting the country every 30 days so I understand it.

The next question is who are these people - people who are working in language schools and other type of employment without the appropriate work visa along with long-term "holiday-makers" I guess we can classify them as - i.e. people not retired (as otherwise they should be on a retirement visa, provided they meet that visa requirement). So these long-term holiday-makers - how many of them are going to be affected and will this mean they have to pack up and move to another country? Will they sell up? If so will this create an abundance of apartments, cars and motorbikes suddenly being needed to be sold very quickly before they depart Thailand?

It would be interesting to hear people's views on who this will affect most, and what will the effect of that be - will it result in more supply of condos and cars being sold on the open market, and will this lead to prices devaluing due to increased supply?

Wasn't another topic almost identical to this closed this morning on the basis that it called for nothing other than speculation ? My personal crystal ball remains cloudy but I do see a lock icon appearing in the very near future.

Not the same OP as the earlier one. But even more not visa related. A discussion about the cost of things is certainly not visa related. Perhaps posting in the general forum would be better but leave visas out of the title.
