Appologies if this questions is answered elsewhere. But I thought I would ask as previous guides and information etc may now be invalid.

I am a UK passport holder. Under 50, unmarried, with no children. Don't wish to work or study in Thailand.

I have a Father who is 50+ from the UK also. He is married to a Thai Lady and has been for over a year. He is going to soon be getting either a retirement or marriage visa (although currently needs no visa as is a 28/28 oil/gas traveler).

My question is: is it possible for me to get a Non-O multiple entry (or any other long term visa - would love a year extension with no requirement to leave) based on living with family as a dependant? If so based on which parent? My UK father or my Thai step-mother (is she even reognised by the law in any way like in the west?). Is there any benefit or negative aspects of my father choosing one over the other of retirement/marriage visa? That could help me get a visa easier. (Excluding the costs and requirments etc...).

Finally is it still required for people who hold Non-O to do border runs every 90 days? I used to have that type of visa for years untill the changes about 3 years ago. If the 90 day border run is still required has there been any news so far about people being unable to re-enter with that type of visa? Or is that visa type currently effected by the new regulations on the 12th August?

Any help would be apprechiated. Again sorry if some of most of my questions has been answered elsewhere recently.

Cheers!

Mike

You do not qualify for an extension.

You may be able to get a multiple entry non-o visa based upon being the step child of a Thai and/or as your fathers son after he gets an extension. You would have to apply for the visa in the UK.

You would have to leave the country every 90 day if you are able to get the visa.

The changes mentioned are only for visa exempt entries and in a few cases tourist visa entries. No problem for non immigrant visas.

thought that dependent extensions for children had a limit of age, I believe early 20"s, I would think that the OP is over 20.

I think I wrote that he did not qualify for an extension. The age limit is 20 for them.

For visas there is no age limit.
