Can someone help with this? To apply for a non immigrant visa I understand I need to go to a Thai embassy in my home county and show proof of funds when applying for this visa. At this stage of the application do these funds need to be in a Thai bank account or will a foreign bank account be acceptable in order to show I have the necessary funds? I am asking because without the visa it seems hard to open a Thai bank account in the first place. Thanks

Dependent upon what basis the visa is based upon and where you apply you may not need to show any money. Also whether it is a single or multiple entry visa it can be different.

If applying in your home country if needed they would accept a bank account there.

Thanks. Hope you are right.
