Blue book which hasn't been taxed for 6 years, can it be sorted out?

Featured Replies

Hello,

Is it possible to sort out the blue book of a vehicle which was not taxed for in 6 years so it will be come valid again?

Can this be fixed either by paying the tax for those previous 6 years or anything else or the car is simply worthless at this point and can never be driven legally again?

Thx!

I'm certain this can be fixed by simply paying the back taxes. Have never heard of them denying a previously legitimate registered car from be registered again.

If the vehicle is over seven years old then you will need test certificate first, you will also need compulsory insurance certificate, armed with these you can then re tax the car paying any back tax owed. ( the tax rate for the vehicle is normally shown at the back of the blue book)

When the vehicle is not taxed for 3 years(have had M/Cylcle & Car) the DLT writes to the registered owner requesting they bring it up to date or return the number plates which are Government property, what happens next to the registration don't know as both weren't ever going near a road again so didn't bother doing any thing .Best the OP gets down to the DLT and asks the horses mouth which as always in these situations is the only thing to do.
