Popular Post gemini81
This virtually guarantees Ms. Yingluck will not return from her 'holiday'. Especially now, that the NCPO is digging into the books on the rice scam scheme, she knows there will be even more criminal trials in her future if she returns. Of course, she is being 'driven' out of Thailand and not fleeing prosecution. I read in another news source Yingluck is looking for a school in London for her eleven year old son. Her son living in London with her living in Thailand? I don't think so. Maybe she understands now, that if a Thai studies in the UK, he returns to Thailand and is totally immune and can do all sh*t he likes. On the contrary, it should teach her not to be a coward; but face charges and stand up for yourself,if you did nothing wrong. Instead of being a shameless scared puppy, running abroad to avoid consequences.

Of course, she is being 'driven' out of Thailand and not fleeing prosecution. I read in another news source Yingluck is looking for a school in London for her eleven year old son. Her son living in London with her living in Thailand? I don't think so. Her son was in boarding school the whole time Yingluck was PM. He was only visiting in Thailand. Ms Yingluck will probably move to the very large townhouse her brother bought, when he was owner of Manchester City FBC, so her son can come home to see her on weekends. Many Hi-So Thais and even Americans don't personally raise their children. One of my best girlfriends was raised by her New Orleans 'Mammy' and hardly saw her jet-setting parents. Yingluck and her son will have a very hard time staying in London if she tries to stay away. I think if she does not come back the NCPO will immediately cancel her passport and label her a fugitive. They then could announce that Interpol is looking for her and her son and have her deported and or arrested. Remember places like the UK, US and Holland need to keep the Thais happy in this area as they want the Thais to give them their criminals also. Look at all the crap the Thais went through so the Americans could get their gun runner. You may be right and time will tell. In the meantime, I'll give you the reasons I think the way I do. If the NCPO were seriously wanting to 'go after' the pretty Ms Yingluck, they never would have let her go in the face of the recommendation for prosecution by the NACC. IMO they do not want to prosecute her as it will cause more ill-feelings than it is worth. Too many people know it was all her brother's doing and the NCPO would be making poor, little Yingluck the scapegoat. Bad PR for the NCPO. They are very unlikely to cancel her passport because I have yet to read where they have canceled the passport Dr. Thaksin's cousin illegally issued him during the flood of 2011. When did Interpol search for the convicted felon, Thaksin and if they didn't go after Thaksin, why would they track down and arrest Ms Yingluck; especially when it seems that Dr. Thaksin can travel to any of those countries you claim 'need' to make Thailand happy. Those countries have already publicly condemned the NCPO for the coup and not allowing Ms. Yingluck to get her election. Unless the NCPO cancels Ms Yingluck's passport, England will have no reason to deport her. You may disagree but, as I said, time will tell.
Eric Loh
Not at all suprised. The establishment has been trying to eliminate any challenges since 2006 to pave an easy way for the Dem Party to form the government. In less than 10 years, the TRT and their successive parties and politicians have been dissolved and banned. Meanwhile, all charges and indictments relating to the Dem Party have been thrown out of court or quietly delayed even though they have been charged for election fraud and illegal donations. Popular Post Bignose
So will the EC prosecute Suthep for making a farce of the same election by ordering people to prevent access to the polling booths? Well we can live in hope. Will you people never give up? The game is up, no matter how many comments relating to a now, unimportant and irrelevant person, the Shin dynasty are cooked and gone. Come out of the past and enjoy the present, the recent telecast was a breath of fresh air. No right thinking person could fault what was said and how it was presented, it was a reassuring example of common sense and bodes well for the future. A future that would have been impossible with the corrupt Shin dynasty still in power...

Ricardo
Yes, the EC are the cleanest of clean. What a complete shower, now they show their true colors now their nemesis are out of the way. They will be a few more that will have the open fist up their backs controlling them making sure as many indictments as possible will be made ensuring that Yingluck et all will not be be returning, for the time being anyway. "now their nemesis are out of the way" "nem·e·sis [nem-uh-sis] Show IPA noun, plural nem·e·ses [nem-uh-seez] Show IPA . 1. something that a person cannot conquer, achieve, etc.: The performance test proved to be my nemesis. 2. an opponent or rival whom a person cannot best or overcome. 3. ( initial capital letter ) Classical Mythology . the goddess of divine retribution. 4. an agent or act of retribution or punishment. " http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/nemesis Former-PM Yingluck can hardly be described as the EC's "nemesis", if only because they're still here, while she herself is history. Such is the way for most politicians, their brief moment of glory passes, but the institutions continue. She ignored their advice & concerns, while they were trying to organise the election in February, and kept trying to avoid meeting them, the elections were flawed & annulled, and the EC was proven right. She followed orders from her clone, and was "best or overcome", very far from being "the goddess of divine retribution" ! You must be joking with this type of response. Before bagging an organisation I fear you know little about, maybe you should do some research. Please place your facts here as to why the EC are not clean as you espouse. Please do not make irrational statements unless you can justify what you are proposing. You do have one aspect right though, they are showing what they are able to do once the colour you clearly support has been removed and cannot block legitimate investigations through the use of fabricated charges brought in by those who were in power prior to the coup. These are facts, you only have to go back to prior posts to confirm this, which in turn, refutes the issues you have raised. You only have to look what has happened since the coup and the number of those who have been caught up in the numerous investigations being undertaken. Are you for corruption? Are you for the farmers not being paid and a number suiciding because they were subjected to an alleged fraudulent activity? What is being brought about now is a massive attempt by good people to try and rid Thailand of corruption, unite the people of and provide all with a reasonable life. No, I do not wear rose coloured glasses and know one cannot eradicate all corruption but at least if others see legitimate prosecutions and those who thought of themselves before their country and people being brought to task and answering for their alleged corrupt activities, then maybe others will and I say maybe, think twice before they engage in corrupt activities. I think we should all wait to see what Ms Yinluck decides, if she returns then I will take my hat off to her for having courage to do so. If not, then her actions will only provides answers to many questions people are asking. Why do you suggest that if people are acting in the best interests of Thailand and its people that some one has an open fist up their back. Not everyone is a puppet like some. Stop wearing blinkers, have an open mind and provide an argument for your response, not hearsay or assumptions, which you appear to run off. Let the Courts decide, upon the evidence that has to be presented, if those indicted are guilty or not. Once this has occurred I would like to see your posts. I hope you don't think the Lannisters Shinawatras helped the rice farmers because they did just the opposite. They damaged the market for Thai rice (the farmers' future), they built a huge stockpile they will now have to sell in competition with the farmers, they enticed the farmers to go deeper into debt to take advantage of the ridiculous rice subsidy, and, in the end, didn't save enough money back to pay many of them. As for the rest of the poor, inflation under the Yingluck government, especially for food and fuel, was much higher than previous governments. No, you DO have a brief for the Shinawatras with the lie you just foisted on us.

I don't think it took a gypsy with a deck of tarot cards to divine that some sort of charges were coming down the road, yet Ms. Ex-PM got the 'get out of Thailand free' card prior to SHTF. You have to ask yourself, why the free pass when the "Shins" are flight risks, and why no Interpol involvement when we get stories every month about this and that "average joe" fugitive being caught and extradited back home from Thailand. Mel Brooks in the History of the World should have say instead, "It's good to be billionaires!" They all have Teflon coatings just like virtually all Western leaders who kow tow for 'Campaign Financing" (read: legalized bribing). The West has corruption down to a science. No wonder the Shins are welcome with open arms and protected. Edited July 29, 2014 by connda
