Hello Everybody,

I have a few days off and I would like to make a short road/boat trip (around 4 days) from Phuket. I have already been to Phi Phi, Ko Yao Noi, Krabi, Ko Lanta and very briefly to Khao Lak (which I wouldn't mind to go back...). I have an Honda Click, but I can rent a bigger one if needed. I would like to explore nature (I like hiking very much) and beaches, I am not looking for crowd, quite the opposite. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated. Of course, I don't want to go too fareaway as I don't want to spend all the time on the road. Please also consider the unpredictable weather in this time of year, so I am looking for a place with beach alternatives.

Thank you very much!

rogerpilly! I don’t have enough knowledge about Thailand attractions and things to do there but I just know about the Mai Khao Beach. I have visited this beach site with my father in my childhood. It is truly beautiful and the longest in Phuket. So I will recommend you to visit this beach and I hope you will enjoy there. Good luck!

thank you for your suggestion. Mai Khao is 25 km away from my house. I go there once a week. I am looking for a place not in Phuket. Ok that I said short trip, but 25 km is not even a trip! Indeed, you are right, the beach is by far the best in Phuket.

Cheers

Khao Sok National park and the Dam in Surat Thani is interesting, and there's a relatively quiet beach at Kanom a bit further over.

I know guys on big bikes that do this trips in a day  :-)

I stay around Rannong, there is plenty to do, we get a boat to Burma for the day. also a few parks around, there is a mango forest. you just have to look around or ask the Locals  1or2 hot springs

Thank you all for your kind replies. I ended up going to Khao Lak  and from there did many tours. Waterfall, different beaches, Kao Sok Park. I really liked the area and I reccommend anybody who wants to go to do it during low season. The place is empty, hotel rates very low and if you are lucky you can still find beautiful weather. However, even if you don't, you have many things you can do regardless of the weather conditions.
