Myanmar ranked 89th out of 99 in ‘Rule of Law’ index

A Washington-based non-governmental organisation has declared Myanmar to be 89th out of 99 countries in terms of how rule of law is experienced in everyday life.

 

Of the eight Southeast Asian countries assessed, Myanmar came seventh.

Issues of justice are people’s number one concern, says parliamentary committee member

Unfair court rulings are the number one issue of public complaint addressed by the Rule of Law Peace and Stability Committee, the secretary of the lower house parliamentary group told Mizzima on August 7.
