Which country's passport is most beautiful? And, why?

Featured Replies

Dear Folks,

I have, for many years, been so envious of the beauty of the British Passport.

It is far more lovely than my own.

For example:

image.png

If you could buy one, which one would you buy?

Alternatively, out of all countries on Planet Earth, which country has...

\The most beautiful passport.... Aesthetically speaking, of course.

How much would you pay for one of these, by the way?

Best regards,

Gamma

  • Wrong, the UK passport and coat of arms represents centuries of history, something young countries like yours doesn’t have.

  • The last thing I would want, is the Crown's 'Code of Arms' on anything, as simply represent their elitist birthright oppression they've exercised for centuries over their subjects. Not much different

  • Totally agree. I've finally had to put that narcissistic, egotistical bore on ignore. I can't take anymore of his self absorbed drivel.

Not much different than Thai emblem on PP.

USA represents 'Peace & Strength', Olive branch & Eagle w/arrows.

Although there may be a change in the future ...

USA history is bad enough, I certainly wouldn't want centuries of oppressing so many other cultures / countries. Bad enough the New World had to tolerate it for ~100+ yrs.

British Empire nothing to be proud of ... IMHO

Sadly, not alone in that aspect.

What do you mean 'in the future'. It's happening right now with a lot of Americans (rightly) ashamed to call themselves American.

I obviously bash the USA enough myself, but not ashamed of being a citizen of. As most people are down to earth, just living everyday, and keep to themselves. Stop watching MSM, as most citizens, even illegal immigrants are nothing like portrayed. Or ashamed to call themselves Yanks.

We simply don't have any birthright 'royals' living off their subjects because they think they are entitled to.

Or established something as oppressive as the East India Company, to rape the world of free market living existence.

I literally sat with 2 young Americans last night (one aged 26, the other 34) who both said they no longer admit to being American when they first meet people and say they are Canadian as they don't want YET another discussion about the $hit America is subjecting the world to.

P.S. I'm not a royalist (I'm Scottish so very few of us are) so not disagreeing on your anti-monarchist views.

I recall the pre - EU blue one, with a thicker cardboard cover, used to have a much nicer, more flowery and colourful design and wording on the inner front page, covering the lines of allowing the bearer to pass freely and without hindrance.

My current blue Queen Elizabeth one looks a bit drab compared to that one, and even the pages look more boring than my last red one. In that, the pages had designs of birds and animals of the UK. Cost savings to pay for more security printing I suppose.

The most beautiful passport in the world is one that expires upon death.

Saves all that bother getting a new one issued.

Canada's passport is the most beautiful, featuring vibrant, UV-activated scenes of nature and landmarks, such as lakes, forests, and the Northern Lights.

I do not think that your puerile response actually answered my serious question!

Beautiful PP is one that needs replacing, because all the pages are filled up coffee1

USA interfered with Korea & Vietnam's peace process.

Cheney's administration and the invasion of Iraq & Afghanistan ... the worse

USAid / CIA regime changes, too many, and most simply rushed the normal process of change.

Aside from that, USA bought most of it's expansion, from Spain, France & Russia. Even the Virgin Islands. Not sure about Micronesia + area.

As far as the 'natives' living there before the New World was discovered, well, they were pretty brutal to each other, had their little conflicts going, rape, pillage & slavery. Them spoils of war.

An OK history, especially compared to other oppressive 'empires'.

To be honest I am happy with the Passport issued by my own country and have no interest in either of the above other than the identical rectangular symbols below both renditions of Nation identity.

Not sure if the UK passport has the UV but both passports inside pages have similar kinds of pictures.

So you are grading a country's/empire's badness on a scale are you?

In IMO - passports are outdated...

- Passports are fragile - water, bent pages, wear and tear can easily damage them. For the most important document we carry, thats a bit ridiculous.

- They are bulky - its a booklet that doesnt fit properly in a wallet.

- Pages run out because of stamps and visas - so people end up replacing a passport that is still valid.

- Border control still rely a lot on someone just looking at it - slow and easy for mistakes.

- A modern ID card could hold biometrics - fingerprints, face scan, encrypted data.

- A card format would make automated border gates faster - less queues, less manual checks.

- Digital verification could remove a lot of paperwork for visas and entry records.

- Cards would be cheaper and easier to replace if lost or damaged.

- Many countries already use national ID cards - extending that for travel makes sense.

- A modern travel ID could link with secure digital identity systems - you wouldnt need to keep showing documents everywhere.

- Airports already use biometric gates anyway - the system is already there.

- A strong plastic ID card would last far longer than a paper booklet that gets battered in bags and pockets.

- The whole passport system feels outdated now - its like something designed for the 1950s not today.

Chips. Machine readable.

My Passport from 15 years ago was the most beautiful because I was a younger bronzed god, before I went to seed.

Plenty, but still far less than the halfwit Americans in a much shorter space of time.

I assume you mean Porn.

My passport has immigration stamps on the first 10 pages.

The remaining pages, I have used my inkjet printer to print high-quality porn images.

So far, nobody at the airport immigration has remarked about this.

The guys at immigration are, as always, inscrutable.

You were there were you? Throw in a bit of drugs, murder and corrupt politicians and it sounds pretty much like your average US City today.

Yet more inane drivel from you. Do you never get tired of it?

No silly. I mean these images. UK passport on top. Canadian on bottom.
