After seeing all those cows all around me in rural Issan, where I live, just started wondering why don’t Thais keep sheep?

Sheep can provide the best quality milk.

Sheep can be sheared and their woollen fleece can be exported.

Lamb has a very tasty meat.

Thailand climate is ideal for keeping sheep and they have plenty of feeding grounds.

I looked on the internet and found that they have some sheep farms, for the kids, as Santorini sheep farm and Cha-Am farm.

But that is more of an entertainment for the kids.

Read also that in the Deep South the Muslims keep sheep, so why not all over Thailand?

I do believe, that would have been a better income for the Thais, than of those useless cows they keep.

Also for me, I could buy cheaper lamb chops, than cost me, an arm and a leg, to get from Tesco or Big C.

Any thoughts, about that?

When I look out of my window I can see a large place called. Pattaya Sheep Farm. I doubt they keep cows overthere.

I do understand, but there are only small pockets of breeding sheep.

Why don't they go on a bigger scale?

It is very profitable.

Costas you should really get out more often.

A vacation in the Khao Yai, Pattaya or Hua Hin area may shed light on the fleece.

Do you have a better quality image of those with the blue and white fleece?

555 Unfortunately not, because the "models" insisted on removing their fleeces. rolleyes.gif

What you mean, get out more and go and see those pathetic sheep in the Thai entertainment farms?

I mean about real sheep, breeding.

C'mon David give us some pictures of the huge Australian sheep.

Seen the cows, now we want to see the sheep.

Fear that the sheep would make men out of ladyboys.

Also, fear of competition with bar girls.

Go back to your bed.

This a "family" forum.

Milking, shagging or other extra terrestrial activities are not allowed to be mentioned here.

Goat, a type of sheep, is available at Muslim eateries, it is a Southern delicacy.

Thai think they do not like mutton/ lamb, until coaxed into trying it, then it is wow!

My Thai family will not eat beef, following on from a previous Costas thread, a holy animal.

Mutton a smelly meat and one only Muslims eat.

Indian food, if not vegetarian has the best saved for chicken and the super best mutton.

Beef again a no, no.

Shepherds pie, oh, , oh, oh!

I think it would behoove those girls to leave their blue and white fleece on at the farm, but if they decided not to, it could be sheer shear delight.

Try goats, now even the farangs wince!

It all becomes cultural when deciding which animal to eat or not eat.

Fancy a hot dog, Asian style?
