Baht becoming ridiculously strong
Actually from early July to early August the Yen gained against the Baht, only after early August did it fall. In fact earlier in the year it was falling against the Baht when the other currencies you mentioned were not declining against the Baht.. So unlike the other currencies you mentioned the Yen's decline has not tracked those currencies fall against the Baht in the same way, it was going up when the others went down, and it went down when the others went up. The AUD/THB also did not track the decline of the Chinese Yuan, CAD, Euro, but instead was going up against the Baht when the others were going down. https://in.marketscreener.com/quote/currency/EURO-THAI-BAHT-EUR-THB-88940/graphics-comparison/ -

LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
Maybe Jim was thinking it would be better to keep most of one's USD in the US earning a lot more interest than in a Thai bank which pays very little, and it only takes 1 day to wire it to one's Thai bank when ready to convert it to THB. That's what I thought he meant. My USD is earning 4.95% in my Fidelity acct, and I can wire it to my Thai bank USD acct in 1 day. I keep only the minimum required balance in my Thai bank USD acct and only wire when I need money or when the exchange rates are very good like they were a couple of months ago. -

Allan Lichtman, the Nostradamus of U.S. presidential predictions has made his FINAL pick
Three days before he met his destiny, Abraham Lincoln stepped through a door where no president had gone before—he openly supported the granting of political rights to African Americans. In this his last public address, the president commented on the Reconstruction of Louisiana and its impact on the newly emancipated and other persons of color. Despite demands from certain “Radical” Republicans in Congress and appeals from black elites in the state, in spite of a gentle and clandestine suggestion from the president himself, Louisiana had rejected the idea of African American inclusion in the body politic. Lincoln took the opportunity provided by those assembled in celebration of Lee’s surrender, to convey his belief that the right to vote be “now conferred on the very intelligent, and on those who serve our cause as soldiers.” Although disappointed by the state’s decision to deny suffrage, he remained hopeful that black men would soon be allowed to join their white counterparts in the exercise of one of the most sacred duties and rights of citizenship. Skulking in the crowd that night was John Wilkes Booth, who upon hearing Lincoln offer support for black voting rights supposedly exclaimed: “That means ni**er citizenship. No, by God! I’ll put him through. That is the last speech he will ever make.” https://www.rbhayes.org/hayes/lincoln-s-evolving-racial-views/ -

Latest developments and discussion of recent events in the Ukraine War
Accelerated Training in the Spotlight After Ukrainian F-16 Crash Officials say that pilots had far fewer flying hours in the American aircraft than their Western counterparts https://www.wsj.com/world/accelerated-training-in-the-spotlight-after-ukrainian-f-16-crash-08cafb67?mod=Searchresults_pos2&page=1 Western pilots, even after completing their training, often fly for many months with their units and in exercises before attempting complex missions in combat zones. The Ukrainian pilots, on the other hand, went quickly from training to the battlefield. Now, Western officials are debating the wisdom of Ukraine’s decision to deploy the new jets in combat just weeks after they first arrived in the country, and sending up pilots who had limited flying hours on the advanced American jet. There aren’t plans yet to adjust the current training program for Ukrainian pilots, but “the crash shows what happens when you try to rush things,” said one senior defense official. -

Allan Lichtman, the Nostradamus of U.S. presidential predictions has made his FINAL pick
Trump sees blacks as equals and treats them as such, so has no need for an excuse. Lincoln could have had congress free the slaves in the Union in 1861, but chose not to, slavery was still legal in some Union states. Lincoln is the President people make excuses for. Although a brilliant speaker he was a racist, even by the standards of the day. -

I agree with this caveat….if the family in question were responsible gun owners properly storing their weapons and their kid stole the weapon that’s different.obviously that doesn’t seem to be the case in this instance instead of naming the kid colt they should have named him dolt……my deepest condolences to all the families affected by this heinous act….enough!! -

Latest developments and discussion of recent events in the Ukraine War
It really is starting to look to the last Ukrainian and Putin won't fall anytime soon. That boat has long since sailed. Putin thinks he can still win a war of attrition in Ukraine - Fighting will drag on while the prospects for diplomacy remain slim FT https://archive.is/qS6MH#selection-1671.0-1675.67 Moreover, in the regions along the border that have witnessed Ukrainian retaliation, support for the Russian war effort is 10-15 per cent higher than the national average of roughly 60 per cent. These are the same regions where, before the war, thousands of people used to visit their Ukrainian relatives and friends across the border. The growth of pro-war sentiment isn’t necessarily resulting in more army recruits, but it makes the government’s job of persuading the Russian people to tolerate an open-ended fight with their neighbours easier. -

Vietnam Train Trips
I'm shortly heading to Vietnam and want to go to Ho Chi Minh, Nha Trang and Da Nang (will do Hanoi next time). I've worked out the following daylight train trips to hopefully see a lot of the countryside. Ho Chi Minh to Phan Thiet (4.35 hrs - 06:30 - 11:05) Phan Thiet to Nha Trang (3.53 hrs - 09:46 - 13:39) Nha Trang to Quy Nhon (4.30 hrs - 13:59 - 18:29) Quy Nhon to Da Nang (5.23 hrs - 08:17 - 13:40) Any thoughts? Am I missing a great place or maybe wasting my time stopping in Phan Thiet or Quy Nhon? (I'm just trying to shorten the daily train journey but they did seem interesting) I've downloaded 12Go travel app which seems to be easy way to buy the train tickets?
