Thai Visa , Having a Baby with my Thai GF

Featured Replies

Hello ,

Kindly can you suggest for which visa i should apply .

Im only Married the Buddhiest Way to my Thai GF, but i have a baby with her and on the Birth Certificate there are our names indicated.

Im working in Asia but not in Thailand so i will be going home to Surin every 2 Months (sometimes i fly in , sometimes i would just like to cross the border .... .

Now im a bit scared that they dont let me enter , there for i would like to apply for a visa .

Has anyone of you a simillar case or can you suggest me , any idea ?

thanks , krup

You have no problem entering on visa exempt, if that is what you have been doing so far.

You can also obtain a non-imm O visa with the birth certificate, and little more (depends on the embassy/consulate).

And you can obtain 60 days extensions at immigration with the same documentation.

Coming in every 2 months and getting a 30 visa exempt entry will not be a problem under immigration's guidelines.

Only staying for the full 30 days and then leaving and immediately returning for another one is a problem.

As of this Friday you can extend a visa exempt entry for 30 days at immigration.

If you were to register your marriage or legitimize your parenthood you could get a multiple entry non-o visa that would give you 90 day entries for a year. Or you could apply for a one year extension of stay at immigration.

With only birth certificate, housebook registration of child, and financial proof of > 150k baht in thai bank (or equivalent in non-thai bank), Penang, malaysia for multiple entry non-o visa.

If you get married at an amphur, you can opt for Savannakhet, Laos (no income requirement) Penang, Malaysia (150k+ baht equivalent any bank), Jakara, Indonesia (?? Financial requirement)

Unsure about KL, Malaysia for multi non-o, it would be about the same financial requirement (150k+ baht equivalent)

Most other neighbor thai consulates will likely only issue single entry non-o with only birth certificate / child housebook registration. Maybe someone else has different experience?

Ubonjoe's suggestion is valid....but on each entry, how long is the intended stay?
