I wonder if direct stock purchase is possible in Thailand? Anybody here know?

Direct Stock Purchase Plan
This is when a person buys stock directly from the issuing company. There are a number of well-known companies that will sell stock directly to individual investors. Most companies that offer this kind of purchase option don't charge investors a commission, and if they do, the commission or service charges is very low compared to buying stocks through a broker. If you're buying a very small number of shares and want to minimize your costs, a direct stock purchase is a great way to go.

The brokerage charges in Thailand for Thai stocks are so low that it is not worth to think about it. The commission by internet trading is just 0.15%. To answer your question more exactly, I do not know of Thai companies offering direct purchases, but sometimes companies offer stock dividends (that means more shares to existing shareholders) without charges and sometimes free warrants.

Normally the only time a company will sell stock directly is when it is unlisted on a stock exchange. This is very risky because you could either make millions or lose everything and the company is not obligated to sell your stock when you ask them to. They can also dilute your stock without your permission unless you have a high degree of control.

As above get an online international trading account commissions these days are very low and due to low interest you can get a huge margin allowance.
