Most human trafficking victims sold in China, police say

More than 150 Myanmar nationals have been victims of human trafficking so far this year, and most of them were sold in China, the anti-human trafficking police force said on September 8.

More than two-thirds of the 153 victims were women or girls, it said. The force recorded 72 cases from January to the end of August, with 48 being forced marriages, 14 forced labour and 10 forced prostitution.
