September 15, 201411 yr Finally the world's smartest helmet Skully is ready for pre-order at $1500 USD. Anyone here planing to put down the money on it? http://www.skullysystems.com/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2wgWPDjUuc Edited September 15, 201411 yr by brfsa2
September 15, 201411 yr I would...as long as I could ensure it fit my egg shaped head properly....and it flows a ton of air.
September 15, 201411 yr I'd prefer a portable solution along the lines of Google Glass. Having it integrated into a helmet doesn't appeal to me at all. I'd rather choose the helmet based on other factors and add something like this later.
September 15, 201411 yr Same here jonny. http://www.ridenuviz.com/#intro Nuviz is doing something but it has been a long time and some people took the money they deposited already. So skully is only sucb option available now but pricey and not sure if it can handle some abuse. There is a thread about it here actually.
September 25, 201411 yr Seems pretty cool, though I'm personally wondering if that heads up display would be more of a possibly dangerous distraction overall than being useful... But no doubt well see more and more helmets like this though, interesting to see where the trend will go with better and better technology. Edited September 25, 201411 yr by Gforcejunkypkt
September 26, 201411 yr I really like the idea, but it's one of those things I want to see on the market for a while before I make the jump.
September 26, 201411 yr Cool, gotta start somewhere but I will wait for version 11 when it is only $100.
September 26, 201411 yr As good as the technology may appear, isn't the shell of the helmet pretty basic?
September 26, 201411 yr As good as the technology may appear, isn't the shell of the helmet pretty basic? Looks that way indeed. However, let the technology get out there and I am sure there will be upgraded versions.

But i am concerned i would go crazy, because the rear view camera is on the back of the helmet. Means with every move of my head the "mirror view" on the display would change. Maybe it would be better to mount the rear camera stationary on the bike? Just a thought, would have to test it first for a few days.
September 26, 201411 yr Alright if you are a Star Wars fan, but not much use in Thailand, poor viability, restricted hearing, distractions, doesn't matter though it would be stolen long before you had time to have an accident.

On the contrary. It's because of all the dangers of Thai roads that any technology that lets you keep your focus and attention on the road ahead is well worth the money.
