Any reports about problems at Phuket Airport based on coming in on a Tourist Visa?

I would like to go to KL for a visa run and stay one night then come back on my double entry Tourist Visa.

I have seen no recent reports of any problems.

You will have no problem because you will be entering with a valid visa.

Many friends entering Thailand through Phuket Airport on a valid tourist visa have been turned away.

I don't know if it is that they doing in and out the same day or what but seems to be a problem at the Phuket Airport and thats why most people going to the Satun border now.

Are sure they had tourist visas and not doing a visa exempt entry.

No airport or border crossing should be turning people away that have valid visas. Immigration has not issued any rules restricting tourist visa entries.

They had a tourist visa in they passport and was asked to show a ticket out of thailand and 20,000 baht.. some other friends arrive tomorrow via phuket airport from penang on a tourist visa so let's see what happens with them.

It is possible they stated continously on a mix of visa exempt entries and or tourist visas. In such cases some officers will apply the law very strictly and see if there is a reason to deny them entry.

With a tourist visa no ticket out is required, but you do need to show enough cash. And this last one has been used as a reason to deny people entry.

If you have many back-to back entries do make sure you have the required cash to show.

There were some reports in the beginning of the crackdown on visa exempt entries. But haven't seen new reports the last weeks.
