Key witness says foreigner kills British tourists

OK, my opinion is David and Hannah started to have sex and the killers snuck up on them, hitting David in the back of the head twice really hard as well as kicking and punching him and then dragged him by his feet face up to the water and dragged Hannah over to the spot she was found and raped and then killed her.

The only thing I would dispute in this is that they killed her before they raped her and dragged her away from all the blood to rape her in the spot where she was found. Without being insensitive the photo shows her body in a state that would support that.

I thought it unlikely that there would be 2 necrophiliacs together, but can you go into a bit more detail on why her body position supports that?[/

On reflection, I may be wrong

I think magic mushrooms were possibly taken. These are unlike any other drug in what they can make one do.

22 years ago, I took one of the famous omelettes once down there with 2 female backpackers in their early 20s who had never taken them before. They stated wandering onto the beach, into the sea and taking their clothes off.

I'm sure that would of come up in a report though i think the police refused to publicly release the results from drug tests on their bodies.

maybe Sean was playing guitar with David and Hannah, ac thugs came , told Sean to do one and the rest we know

so many things could have happened and we aint got a clue without seeing all the evidence

Hours after the murders Sean posted: My mate Dave lost his life on koh Tao. We were meant to meet up when we found out we were both there at the same time but I fell asleep.

He was killed that night. I feel f****** terrible.

I loved you so f****** much brother. I know you tried to save her.

You are the most honourable guy Ive ever met. I will miss you terribly.

Im sorry I didnt come out with you that night. Really my heart is breaking.

Maybe Sean talked to the person who witnessed the murder or maybe Sean witnessed it and returned after the murders holding Davids head, then ran back to his room with his guitar, his clothes stained with David's blood.

if sean was there why did he write.. "“I’m sorry I didn’t come out with you that night. Really my heart is breaking.”

I have another scenario. Hannah walks home escorted by a gang of footballers who had celebrated in AC bar earlier. They gang raped her and David whilst on his way back to the hotel heard the screaming went to help and got bashed on the head with the hoe. They continue to rape Hannah then one of them smashes the hoe through her head and shocked they all run back to their hotels. Maybe Mon is the witness and that's how he got mixed up in this.

Except we're hearing that a speedboat was instantly arranged to whisk (one or more of) the perps away, maybe even straight to Bangkok??. Unlikely any footballer over there on a jolly is gonna be able to sort that at a few minutes notice. It's pointing in a certain direction. If BKK police are running the show then is there a (slim) chance of some justice? If local 'cops' then obviously it would seem not.

Who mentions a speedboat whisking away possible perpetrators? This could be crucial.

Because you would want to distance yourself as much as possible. I would think. Facebook gets this information into the public domain. He used facebook again to assist with his rescue. Make no bones about it he saw what these "friends " were capable of first hand. He was being harassed ever since which led to the last night of harassment we heard about from KT. I believe this choice to stay or run was a defining moment for Sean - not to get all philosophical or anything. I think he knows the outcome of his choices and he let them both down.

He's not all over CNN and BBC he s not here assisting with an investigation. Why investigate - he knows exactly what happened and he s terrified. In a million years I could not leave a country that I knew for almost two years to leave it in the Thai polices hands to solve. never. Self preservation is his thinking not investigation or catching the criminals that did this to his "brother".

We will never know what happened unless the public were to be given the evidence obtained, the DNA samples, everything collected at the crime scene. And were allowed to interview everyone on that island the day the murders were committed. Maybe the British ambassador Mark Lent could call for an investigation by the British authorities but this is highly unlikely. The likely outcome of this case is unsolved.

hypothetically, if he was involved / present then could be an attempt to disassociate himself from the incident, both publicly and also as an indicator to the guilty parties that he was going to play the game. May not have felt he had much choice, and indeed he probably didn't until some reporters / embassy staff were on hand. Then took his chance to get out when it came.

It would be great to see mr kent updating his compatriots here don't you think ?

This stay in the background policy of the British embassy makes no sense. To me.

Mentioned as being somewhat common knowledge on the island a few pages ago.

Also saw the same thing mentioned a couple of days ago somewher on a TV thread.

Walking off the island with a blood stained guitar, murderer's enjoy rubbing your nose in it and getting away with it in full view of the world's media. Sean beats them all. Just an incite might be wrong.

ENOUGH!!

Sperm here, sperm there, necrophilia, bodyposition indicates, consensual sex with multible partners and so on.

Show some bloody respect for the victims and their families.

This thread has reached a stage, where no one really care about the victims anymore. It has become a media event, where most are posting almost in a frenzy.

For all I care keep playing detectives, but please show respect. This is not about getting "likes" or post the most smart comment!!

Reading isn't compulsory.

I rather think he didn't want publicity as he'd just been convicted of a very serious crime that he didn't want the world to find out about.

Sorry if the details offend you, but this was a gruesome crime. We could pretend these things didn't happen but some of us care enough that we want to ensure this doesn't just fade away. If you're easily offended, stick to reading the mainstream news headlines and posting on their Facebook tribute page.

This is a forum. You should well know that people speculate and this may involve discussing scenarios that are graphic. I will say that the majority of comments have not been disrespectful in the context of what happened to these two. Most of the posters above just have a concern that this crime gets solved and not brushed aside. We are not detectives but who knows what a reader may stumble across when piecing together bits of the puzzle. Heck, after the Malaysian Airlines flight went missing, anyone with a computer could help in the search by looking over satellite images. Ordinary people are also helping to solve complex DNA sequencing problems from their home computers - it's amazing what this 'crowd sourcing' is going to open up in the future for solving complex problems. Don't knock it.

If Sean is a real Scot, he will come forward and tell all he saw, indeed perhaps he already has to the Thai police. We don't know.

If not, he's a coward. The possible scenario of him fleeing the scene whilst David went to help Hannah is a terrible one

I remember the incident when Aung San Suu Kyi faced up to soldiers who had halted her convoy, a soldier pointed his rifle at her and her reply was, 'Go on shoot,we have done nothing wrong'

There are times when people are forced to choose between risking their lives and doing the right thing or playing safe and backing down, despite knowing it's wrong.

A serious crime doesn't result in community service hours and secondly I don't see him being on the down low when with public notices posted at the murder scene on facebook and later to the world.

Anyway speculation indeed ! As advised it simply makes sense to me if I put myself in his position.

Sean McAnna is not part of this story though he would like to be. He made some FB posts eulogising his friend David and regretting not seeing him on the night he was murdered. He then claimed to have been threatened by the AC bar manager though this is denied. He left the island the next day and was interviewed by a journalist from i think the Daily Telegraph. In this interview McAnna made no claims about knowledge of the murders. He only surmised that people on the island knew who did it. If he knew something he would have told the British press by now. This man craves attention, but he has nothing or nothing credible to say. So lets put him to rest can we.
