A new Child Development Centre at Kuan Koh village in Nua Klong district of Krabi was officially opened by French Consular officer to Thailand, Mr. Thierry Eder and the Krabi Governor Sonti Thechanand. The centre is funded by the N.U.T. Foundation in memory of a French freelance journalist, Natacha Sana who was killed by the December 6th tsunami at Phi Phi island of Krabi. The N.U.T. Foundation was founded in December 2005 aiming at cultural exchange promotion between France and Thailand as well as to promote or support education for needy students or tsunami affected children. They are reported to provide scholarships of 1 - 10 years for each child.
