realenglish1 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Whether he is executed or spends life in prison is irrelevant. That fact that he is not in society is the winner
ThaiPauly Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 If they execute him I will be really surprised
olaska Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 It's too easy. When he's dead nothing to remind him what he has done. Better to cut his balls of, that will remind him every time he has to go and have a piss and free lubricant to his fellow inmates
johnh869 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 The Hua Hin Provincial Court today sentenced a 22-year-old outsourced employee of the State Railway of Thailand to death after he was found guilty of rape and murder of a 13-year-old student on the sleeper train on July 5. Although the convict, Wanchai Saengkhao, a bed-sheet replacement employee of a company outsourced by the SRT, would confess, the court said it would not help to ease the death sentence because his confession was confuted to testimonies and evidence. He has 30 days to appeal the death sentence. His accomplice Nattaporn Chamnan was also sentenced to six years in prison but commuted to four years after he confessed. Tchooptip Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 well, it seems like I gone go against the opinion of a lot of people here .. but for me I think death sentence should be the the last option, meaning in case someone doesn't cure better, or do bad things again. This guy is 22 years old, did something very wrong, maybe under influence of drugs, (and I'm not sure I understand good, didn't confess) ... its not the first time in the world someone get the death penalty being innocent. Everyone can do something wrong, (the one that never did , raise his hand), everyone should have a second chance .. if he sit in a thai prison for 20 year .. I think he will well clearly been punished for his mistake. further on .. I hope we live in a civilized society, A bad and sad think happen, a court valuate and punish that person, and we must hope we(and he) all learn out of it. When I hear a lot of reactions, like "rot in hell scumbag" and some feel happy because someone gets death penalty ... I feel like I live between a lot of judges with the mind of someone from Islamic state. Lets all try to be civilized , let that judge make the right decision, and let not lower our selfs .. I hope I am not the only one with this opinion. No you'r not!
VINCENT2012 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 perhaps again the same debate about for or against death penalty. to me this death penalty will be for sur more civilized than what they did to that poor girl.....in this case i am for the death penalty.....100%. these people are not human and dont deserve pity 1
JacChang Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 He wasn't able to pay the 500 baht fine.
Lopchan Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Death sentence is apt in cases like this. Now, like the many counterfeit t-shirts available in Thailand say, JUST DO IT!
Triplebank999 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I don't think they execute people in Thailand any longer, and if they do, the keep it very, very low key, thus not ever knowing whether the death sentence is real or just for show... They do.
allan michaud Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script> It's amazing how quickly the courts move when you don't have money. Indeed, now if he had he been driving a Ferrari drunk and drugged off his head...
Triplebank999 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Life prison sentence without parole would have been better, death is so easy ... besides that Capital punishment will be converted to life sentence and then he will walk after 20 years or so if he's still in one piece .. No it won't... "The court justified the verdict by noting that Mr. Wanchai's crimes were "cruel and without any shed of humanity," therefore deserving the harshest punishment available under the law. Although Thai courts usually reduce sentences for defendants who confess, the judges said Mr. Wanchai's confession did not merit such reduction because he only confessed "when defeated by evidence." 1

quadman Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 It's amazing how quickly the courts move when you don't have money. Quite, I don't particularly agree with the death sentence in general but if its in law, then whom am I to dispute the decision. Amazing how quick the wheels of justice have worked in this case in comparison to other recent murder cases, eg the Channel 3 star caught on camera shooting a mate in the head point blank among others. I don't agree with the death penalty either and I doubt it will be carried out. It's a bit hypocritical anyway for a supposedly Buddhist country. Nothing can bring the girl back but so long as he's somewhere he can't be a danger to anyone else then that's a good result as far as I'm concerned. If he serves life, or anywhere near it, if he lives to a good age he's going to be in there for a long time to think about the effect his moment of pleasure will have on the rest of his life as well as that of his victim and her family and friends. I was thinking about the case you mention a few weeks ago. Anyone know how that's going? He's 22 years old, if he simply serves life, I'm sure he'll find many opportunities to smile again during his stay, she never will. He deserves to be razor cut and coated with honey and left on the beach for fire ants to do their job.
Popular Post toooa Posted September 30, 2014 Popular Post Posted September 30, 2014 Maybe they could put him in a train overnight, with a bunch of violent militant sodomites just to loosen him up before the big day... he shouldn't give it if he's not ready to take it. Of course this in no way makes the justice system just.... its just a tiny sliver of Som Nam Na... an errant ray of sunlight that slips through the usually cloudy sky... 3
Greenhill Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I'm sure it wasn't many days ago that we were told that Thai's couldn't possibly do this sort of thing??!! I know that was in connection with raping and murdering foreigners but still!!! Are they sure they've convicted the right guy here??
phantomfiddler Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Just think, if it had been a farang girl raped, murdered, then thrown from a train, the guy would probably have been promoted !
utkb Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 It's amazing how quickly the courts move when you don't have money.Don't be so negative, have a Red Bull and enjoy your day!! What did happen to the Red Bull founders grandson after killing that cop a few years ago?
chotthee Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Just think, if it had been a farang girl raped, murdered, then thrown from a train, the guy would probably have been promoted ! Rape is rape, regardless if it is Farang, Thai, Burnese, or Dogs.
CapeThai Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Eye for an eye I say.... If you are capable of taking a life for no reason then you must be prepared to accept the same in return.... No BS or questions asked.... 1

Possibly, they paid the family enough to feel that they had vindication. I can understand that, if the family of the dead policemen are happy enough, why do they need to make the rest of us feel as though we have vindication against a crime that didn't affect us. I know, this post will go and get attacked, but in reality if the family of the policemen the daughter happy, content, feel some vindication, then that's enough. The reality is he can never come back.
carter1882 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 While the death sentence is not usually carried out i think that this one will be and quite swiftly.
Malthus101 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 It's what he deserves. One more sicko gone from the world. Haha, trust you to appear! Whenever there's a paedo story, Lee is right on the case! Starting to make me wonder....
Jimlove Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Didn't think thais could do these things .... sorry if hurt feelings with OP´s that have the opinion that "This is Thailand" ...
Artisi Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 (edited) Are they in need of a volunteer for executioner. Well, there were a few in TV who indicated they were up for it - now let see if they can live up to it. Edited September 30, 2014 by Artisi
kimamey Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 they should give him to the family.of the girl. and let them do what ever they want to him..rest my case...they should do that everywhere.. you watch the crime rate disapear What if they follow their religion which prohibits killing and preaches forgiveness and that he will be judged after death? Will you be happy? I doubt it. Why do you assume that a family grieving over the recent death of their daughter will either want or be helped by carrying out acts of wanton violence which is what I assume you're thinking of. This seems to be a common train of thought on here but I've never heard anyone proposing this giving any thought for the family only what they want and various ways to go about it. I doubt your ideas would drop the crime rate. When this guy did what he did he will have known about the possible consequences. Maybe getting the death penalty and possibly having it carried out. If not then a long time, possibly the rest of his life in a not very nice Thai prison. It didn't stop him because at the time he was thinking of something else. They have pretty draconian penalties in many countries for minor crimes, following the wrong religion, homosexuality ect. but the threat of death by slow hanging or stoning or chopping off hands, feet or heels doesn't seem to stop crime does it?

Lets face it, he is a no-body as far as Thai society is concerned, so would you expect any delay in the trial, decision and execution - no - neither did anyone else. However, it's a shame they don't move as quickly in finding the perpetrator's of other crimes (and not let them go when he have them) trial them, find them guilty or not and finalise the verdict within a reasonable time ie,. 1 month sounds about right - but guess when there is a name to up-hold or money involved it's a very different scenario. FangFerang Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 This was one of the saddest stories I have read in the Thai news. It is not any less sad at all.
SPB65 Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 An eye for an eye - death by being thrown out of a moving train after being raped. Seems only fair. 1
