I heard that FBI and Scotland Yard were doing their own investigations undercover and know exactly what the Thai Police are doing. Charge the wrong people for this and the entire Thai Police force will have to be sacked in front of the world....now that's a BIG loss of face.....karma. I was going to mention this earlier on in the investigation but decided to let them run with this entire disgusting excuse of an investigation.

Also, I'd imagine that human right groups will be called in to save the poor sucker fitted up for this.

5555,FBI and The Yard undercover on KT,5555.You should have kept that to yourself.

Is it just me, or does this case show the so called "Thainess" at it's ugliest? Xenophobia, a blame it on the victims attitude, and complete incompetence of law enforcement agencies, all come together. To top this up, one must hear the now famous bikini speech of our leader, and the cynical and difficult to beat "let them wear tracking devices" idea of the tourist minister. The only way to bring Thailand to it's senses, would be a complete boycott by tourists planning to visit.

And what about the expats. I've said it before... if you want to effect change in Thailand then the expat community should walk. Just think of the impact of 10,000 or more hitting Phuket Airport or Had Yai - do you think the international press would ignore a mass exodus? When interviewed the expats can then say why and demand change. Seriously if the Thai Gov didn't change they would be losing billions each year and would be a massive blow to the economy... you talk about tourists boycotting but you and the other expats could achieve so much more. Time to get off the bar stool and put your words into actions.

Thais don't give a damn about expats living here, unless they have businesses supporting lots of Thai workers. 10,000 of us could leave, but compared to 25M tourists a year, its such a small fraction to have no impact at all (on the economy).

Why does it take 3 to issue an arrest warrant, if the evidence is there just go pick the suspect up.

How many days does a cheque take to clear when deposited into a Thai account ?

easy answer ,gives them time to leave ,it is tiredland don't won't them to rush and run

They could send them in dressed as Coco the clown and the Thais wouldn't notice!

I do find it strange that the friend's that were with both victims on the fateful night have made no public statements on their arrival back in the UK.

Maybe they are waiting until after the funerals are held or maybe be the British police are involved.

If there were problems in the AC bar that night they would be aware and they could also identify other suspects/ witnesses i.e. the student allegedly studying hard in Bangkok.

Why is the British Foreign Office not getting more involved in this?

Why is the Government just letting events pass by day after day without stamping on the police who by every measure are not performing and the stench of corruption is overpowering?

Where are morals and professionalism?

Where is JUSTICE!!!!!!!

I don't understand that either. Why don't these large countries demand legit investigations in these cases?

Have they found someone to give false evidence in exchange for money?

It's not at all uncommon throughout this whole region for not only witnesses to be bought, but also a paid patsy to be found who is willing to "confess" to a crime he did not commit in exchange for a suitable consideration to take care of his dependents.

I believe that this is the most likely scenario for a "successful" outcome to this charade of an investigation........

I think an awful lot of people are over estimating the power that these local families have, as well as the influence of the local police.

The big guns from Bkk are in charge of the investigation and given the publicity the case has been given in the international press, I don't think paying people off is as easy as it normally is. They need to be 100% transparent with the outcome of this, and I'm sure they have been told this from powers above.

In the same vein, I also have doubts as to the statement from the taxi driver, being given money and being beaten up. He may have been given a slap to make sure he was paying attention, but if he was given money as he has claimed, where is it? Has he returned it?

Meanwhile, Jordan van der sloot is now a father from a peruvian prison. Out of all the aspects of that case, the one thing they did get right was the coverage. I wish that same type of coverage would be present in this case.

Yeah, as soon as they beat convince a witness to take a bribe come forward and name the perpetrators that killed the two Brits...

... nonono, you got that all wrong!

>Pol Lt-Gen Panya also dismissed as groundless an allegation made by one suspect, Pornprasit Sukdam, that he was tortured by police to implicate others of being the suspects in the murder.<

'Groundless', you see! So that's that ...

Why are there no farang witnesses who were in AC Bar at the time ?

You know damn well the farangs are biased; they will always blame the Thais.

Maybe it's because farangs understand the concept of justice and that scares the hell out of people here.

I should have stated that my question was actually rhetorical.

it would seem they have their prime suspects and, good police work and CCTV camera in convenience stores and matching DNA

if it is anyone in the family of "local administrative chief"

they have a lot of explaining to do, as well as obstructing an investigation and lying to police.

no local mafia person is going to go up against the "former" head of the military,

that isn't a show down, that is a death wish

"A piece of litter recovered near the scene contains DNA from one suspect, a source...""

this case will soon be solved

RTP really need to learn to say

instead of continually putting their feet in their collective mouths.

my comments are not intended to show disrespect to the victims

but isn't the lesson in this that the RTP need to employ proper, professional PR spokespersons, either nationally or regionally ?

the BiB on the ground need to keep their traps shut, get on with the jobs they are suppose to be doing and let a "talking head" deal with the media and doing "damage control" ?

We know this will not happen, as the head honco's, minnons etc all love their 15 minutes of fame, telling the "world" and being in the spotlight, irrespective of what comes out their mouths..

Agree. I've said it before about having a responsible press officer and here about keeping traps shut with "no comment".

Good to know we are on the same page.
