Koh Tao: All three migrant workers confess to rape and murder of British tourists

Mr. Kent went on to praise the Royal Thai Police in solving the case and have shown exemplary professionalism as a crime fighting unit.

People from the UK must be so proud of their ambassador to Thailand.bah.gif

There must be more important common interest between UK and Thailand than two beautiful young people's lives.

Trade, military... ?

Since these heinous murders where Capital Crimes committed during a State of Martial, if found GUILTY as charged, the penalty for all 3 murderers should be death by Firing Squad. The sooner the better! thumbsup.gif

Ya, and what if they were your innocent kids?????

Well done to the Royal Thai Police , A difficult Crime to solve due to the large amount of foreigners and Migrant workers on the island. Anyone on this post who thinks they could have done a better job in two weeks of solving this crime should go home stop being a typical Farang layabout and get a proper job and leave the stupid comments out of the post. I bet the DNA comes back a perfect match for all three suspects.

I am sure you are right, especially as they have the DNA samples of two rapists to match with the three convicts. I mean suspects.

I think Sean was there, and they were all high on drugs

David;s hero image is dead as, it is what I thought from the very start,

he was just getting started with the girl, and they hit him from behind and immediately jumped her while two guys drowned him

Sean may have seen the whole thing

Well done to the Royal Thai Police , and shame on you on this forum speculating if the DNA is false evidence etc,

Yes I know all of you wanted it to be a hi so influential Thai but sometimes the truth can be hard to swallow .

What is the fact is that 80% of the workers on the island are immigrants and most of them from Myanmar .

It should come as no surprise that the killers are immigrants .

Without a DNA match the discussions would have continued forever here on TV.

Now we will follow the trial until the end , and it will most certainly end in life sentence for the Burmese guy who is the killer , do you really think they want to be scapegoats when their life will end in a prison for the rest of their lifes? Not even 10 million baht will be worth it.

Again well done to the police.

Crap. There is no DNA evidence to link the Burmese as of now. And what do you think is meant by "Police officers then led the two to a safe-house where they were intensively interrogated."? A confession was beaten out of them in out of sight.

All the people harping on about the safe house.

It's for the protection of the suspects. Has anyone seen what happens when the locals get a mob together for some vigilante justice? That's how it works down south and especially when hurting one income.

Police don't need a violent mob out front baying for blood.

You obviously have no idea of how the 'law' works in Thailand nor of how the Thai police carry on their corrupt behaviours. You only need to research previous criminal acts to realise that the rich "always" get away with any crime, but the poor people of Thai society are "always" found guilty.

Of course Sean was there. The coward ran away and left David and Hannah behind. From hero to zero. All those posts on facebook by Sean are just reflection of his guilty conscience.

UPDATE:

DNA samples from two Myanmar workers match with those collected from British victim

Posted

Police have collected the DNA samples of all three men the test results are expected to be revealed tomorrow.

Or within the next three days.............

this stinks only yesterday it was stated that it was a thai who confessed have they changed his nationality

I agree, Sean is the whole case. He and the other English people there should be brought back (with heavy English/Escorts/World Backing) to blow this DNA planting thing out of the water.

We all know the people who would not supply DNA are the real number one suspects (if they were also the men in an argument between the recessed prior that same night).

I want to hear from Sean McAnna,

it may be that he fingered the guys arrested and that is why he was threatened

Sean also said he was among a group of people playing guitar on the beach near the scene. He must have seen or heard, and known, the other Guitar players on the Beach. I guess not many Guitar players where on this beach during the Night. The police where looking for the Guitar players from the beginning.

I am also a guitar player,

if I was on that island, I would know every guitar player, especially after 18 months

if one killed two people, it would be passed along fast, assuming anyone saw it, which, Sean may have

Sean's post to facebook about not seeing david that night may have been false, but, he may have fled because he was going to get killed, because he was the only witness

Ive come to believe that Sean was telling the truth and news sites have actually just made up certain statements

My first reaction when I read on Yahoo News was 'fit up', but I had posted at the start I thought it could possibly have been migrant workers ONLY because of the hoe being used as a murder weapon. This hoe is constantly being reported as a 'garden hoe', you ever seen the ones the workers here use? They're completely different, much stronger and sharper to be able to cut through the hard sun baked earth here. I've never seen one just left lying around in all my years here. They can't afford to replace tools. I also suspect a 'well connected Thai' would've been 'tooled up' with something a tad more sophisticated. Most at least carry a knife if not a gun.

However, Thailand is being seen to be hoist by it's own petard of scapegoating migrant workers, which has come back to bite them in the@rse.

It ain't over until the fat lady sings - so as I said earlier on - let's just watch how this pans out, thru due process.

There is no 'Due Process' where there is a confession. That is why confessions are very popular with the RTP.

I'd suggest due process is now there where the cops get a court order for jailing, and next step, in front of the prosecutor, would be the plea hearing, and should they choose to plea not guilty, then the testimony hearings, no?

I'm sure you have a link to that source., or is it possible that you're just making up things as you go?

I just can't swallow the sudden shift in the story, from some horny peeping toms watching 2 farangs get it on on the beach, which is completely plausible, transitioning to, "Hey, come on lads, let's go bludgeon them to death". True, they were apparently drinking, which does alter decision making ability, weirder things have happened, but it's so extreme, just seems a bit implausible. Guess we'll see what science has to say.

So if Sean was there, he knows who murdered them. And he named him already. If he was only with the Burmese, why would he accuse the well-connected Thai?

We'll see how this pans during the trail, especially if the defense Lawyer does not ask for an independent DNA Test to be performed on his clients

Slowly my friend.

Guilt must be proved 100 % by forensic police from Scotland Yard. Confessions have been forced out from people too often already.

What if they are innocent ? The real culprits would still be free and rejoicing.

Ambassador Kent's statements are leaving a long trace of slime.

Posted

Was Mr Kent a kindergarten teacher before he became an ambassador ? What a sniveling slob he has proved to be. Its no wonder that most Brit expats have no faith or respect for their embassy.

This is the scary bit . . . . . probably admit to anything while there.

Scary indeed. "A safe house where the BIB's vigorisly beat the crap out of them...and there you go....confession!

In all truthfulness i dont believe any of them did this. The big shot headsmen and son...absolutely did! IMO.

The remarkable thing about this thread is the amount of Thai bashing. Give it a rest they caught someone sorry that you hate the place you live so much that it has to be a National from this country or nothing. The % of a crime this horrendous being a setup is laughable. I am sure everyone involved would keep their mouths shut. Do you think these Burmese got 30k baht to take the fall for a Thai person? Seriously one or three of these guys are getting the death penalty. Sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one. I am pretty sure any Thai living on Koh Tao understands murder and butt raping is bad for business. So everyone is up in arms that they are using strong arm interrogation tactics? So would it be better to coddle them and make sure they are treated like with the utmost care considering they just brutally murdered two people and cost Thailand millions in tourist revenue? I respect that part about Thai justice unlike the west these guys don't have to play nice. If these guys did it they should be shown no mercy their should be no migrant apologist anti Thai rhetoric. I have dealt with Burmese living close to the border they make up a fair amount of the criminal element in the area because of their transitory nature.

If Sean was with Hannah and David on the beach at the time of the attack then it doesn't make sense that Hannah and David were 'getting intimate'. I doubt they would choose to start getting it on with a friend hanging around when their rooms were so close by. So what would explain Hannah's DNA and no one elses on the condom?

for the sake of knowing.... a time line from day one untill "now" needs to be drawn up with every actor's statements plotted on the time line. police, reporters, labs, goverment. everything that was said by a offical or withness, testing & labs. to many stories for one crime. when this is plotted and is looked as a whole, well. .......

There is no doubt in my mind that Sean was interviewed by the British authorities about the whole affair. That's the standard procedure. There are people assigned to British embassies across the globe whose job is to know the truth. There is no way they would let Sean get away without being at least interviewed. British nationals were summoned to the British embassy in Bangkok for lesser things than this.

Yeah "safe" house. Safe for the police to do what they please!
