My young son wants to go kickabout with his new football and boots. Are there any public access, flat, grassy areas around the lake or Soi Siam Country Club?

The fitness park opposite the Pong Municipality at the north end of the lake .

Proper football played there [sometimes flood-lit] and the surrounding grass and trees are ideal for a kickabout

Unfortunately the SSCC has been shophoused to death.

If he turns out to be any good I hope you make him play for England (I'm being a bit presumptious in assuming you are English). If you're Scottish, Dutch or German and he turns out to be any good I hope he chooses to play for Thailand.

At the other end of SSCC road (Sukhumvit road end - somewhere between SSCC road and Soi Muslim - behind NumChai and the Tesco Express) is a group of 3 or 4 all weather football pitches. From what I can tell there are teams from 7 yrs upwards there. Your boy could join a team and get coaching there.

Can get coaching at planet football as well, I believe they entered in or maintain some sort of league. They are located on SSCC opposite SP 5.

Take him to Planet Football just up from the Chicken Crossroads on SSCC. He can join a team there and you can have a beer.
