Overstay when managing work permit

Featured Replies

I have WP and my agency has submitted the documents for renewing it last week. Because some reasons, beyond my competence, labor office manages the renewal with some 1-2 days delay. In the meantime my visa expired and I had - 1 day - overstay when the local immigration office referred to a new regulation, supposedly issued between 22/08 - 01/10, saying that even one day overstay I have to go back to my country. The office does not want to inform me on this new regulation and especially does not want to show me that.

Anybody knows solution? What can I do now? Anybody heard about this "new regulation ".

I have heard of no such regulation.

You certainly would not have to go home to get a new visa unless you are from a country that can only get them there.

Why did they wait so late to renew your work permit?

They are referring to the following, as mentioned it does not contain anything like you was told.

However if immigration refuses to issue the extension because you're on overstay, you will need to leave country, likely to Laos , and obtain a new non-imm B visa there. That can be had the same day in Savannakhet.

Unless of course the OP is from one of those countries where they do have to get their "B" visa's issued in their own country eg India

I'm convinced that the OP is not.
