I just returned from immigration after applying for a 30day extension on my 30day visa exemption I obtained on arrival at suvarnabumi..

The woman was friendly enough and asked where I was staying, I showed her my hotel booking.. She asked when I was leaving, I showed her my flight booking (in 2 weeks), could she keep the copy.. Yes no problem.. So I'd be returning to my home country in just over 2 weeks?? Yes that's right.. Ok thankyou

I got my passport back 45 min later with my extension stamped on the date of my flight out.. Not 30days.. Not an issue as I really need to go home then anyway but good to know for next time as I would of booked my flight closer to the 30day mark and had proof of the flight.. Then can always bring the flight fwd after getting the visa..

Anyway food for thought..

You would of gotten the full 30 days if you hadn't shown them the ticket. They actually should of given you the full 30 days you paid for. What if your flight was delayed or something happened that kept you from leaving.

Tickets and hotel bookings are not a requirement to get the extension.
