Require visa for 6 months

Featured Replies

Hi! I am from India.

I will be volunteering in Bangkok for 6 months. I require a multiple entry non-O type visa for this purpose.

But, the consulate in Kolkata says that it can only give a single entry non -O visa valid for 3 months.

Is an extension for another 3 months possible after this from Bangkok itself?

If not what can be done to deal with this issue?

After you get your work permit for your volunteering work, you can apply for an extension of stay at the local immigration office.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

I had previously asked the agency I am coming through if volunteers require work visa, but I was informed that a work visa was not required for volunteers.

And does that mean that work visa is required for the first three months as well?

Sorry i mean work permit

If you are working, whether paid or not, you need a work permit. Legally you cannot start working before your work permit has been issued but many people start working while their application is being processed.
