Money exchange

Featured Replies

I'm arriving in BKK in a few days and will be going to Pattaya, but this is the first time I will be bringing US dollars into exchange. I normally just withdraw from the ATM. I've seen the currency exchange stations in the baggage claim area at the airport but I'm wondering where I will get the best exchange rate. In the airport or at one of the many exchange places in Pattaya. Anyone know where I'll get the best rate?

Thank you

Exchange a small amount at the Airport, just enough for what you need to get to Pattaya etc...then when you get to Pattaya, have a look around..... You will do much better "on the ground" than you will at the airport. That has always been my experience

OP, I have found Yenjit Exchange to give good rates when changing US$'s into Baht.

They have a branch towards the end of Walking Street and also, I believe, a branch near to Immigration in Jomtien. I think you can check their rates on their web page.

However, the effort to locate exchanges with better rates only really matter if you are changing large amounts.

Thanks for the replies! I'm going to have about $3000 to exchange, so I want the best rate I can find.
