Embassy Income Letter

Featured Replies

I have read this before but cannot for the life of me find it. How many months is the income letter from your embassy valid for and accepted at Thai Immigration? I was thinking that when I get this letter from the embassy I would just pay for two originals and use one for conversion to non-O and the other for the retirement extension two months after and save another trip to the Embassy. I would be wary of taking a copy of the first letter for the retirement extension!

A income letter will be accepted that are up to 6 months old.

No problem to get 2 at the same time in your case.

.

Somebody posted that you should use BLUE ink when filling out and signing the form and ask the embassy officer to do the same.

Seems the Thai IO chided him because, with black ink, it's hard to tell if the form is an original.

Never heard of COLOR copiers I guess.

Thanks Joe...Since I asked this question on the 12th, I have been doing forum research on the Immigration office in Nakhon Sawan and alot of posts that say the Embassy letter at that office can only be 30 days old. Some of these posts (maybe all?) are a couple of years old though. Has the law changed to 6 months recently or is this a quirk with this office. I think they follow what CM does as they fall ynder CM's jurisdiction.

A notice was sent out to all offices making it 6 months in June of last year.

This PDF has it in Thai and an English translation.

I used an income affidavit that was almost 4 months old to get my extension up here in August.
