devzer0 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Hi Guys, what sort of job positions are available for a Thai girl who hasn't finished her degree yet. Which are not retail based. So doesn't require a Saturday shift.? looking forward for your feedback. Thanks
AlexRRR Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Very very few, a degree is no guarantee to a monday to friday job, might be a better idea to search out companys that just work the days you want your princess to work.
devzer0 Posted October 14, 2014 Author Posted October 14, 2014 Senior Member, "Advanced Members" amazing response with lot of assumptions and incorrectness. "a degree is no guarantee to a monday to friday job" all my thai and none friends with degree's work Mon-Fri (i don;t know where you live?) "days you want your princess to work" the relationship to me and the person in question is not important and your assumption is not accurate. You can keep your trolling elsewhere. thanks. If you have something to say just add some value to to the question. Not just bunch of bullshit.

So much hostility in this post, TV does have a group you can join which has similarly minded members, called the angry little boys club (ALBC)Maybe see if she can get freelance work and can work where and when she wants. 1

h90 Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 We and most of our customer and supplier have some staff in the office on Saturday. Our rule is every second Saturday. But working times are 8-17 or till the work is completed which can be sometimes 18 or 19. 9-17 with Sat off: "work" for the government.
Aussieroaming Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Factory worker, cleaner, housemaid in a hotel, taxi driver (not that many women in the taxi game), farm assistant, cook, chef...the list goes on

SOrry for wasting your time. ALBC will be delighted to have a new member. If you tell us what degree she is studying, maybe some of us can give you some suggestions. Some of us "bunch of farangs" employ lot of Thai staff.
kblaze Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Thailand enjoys a sub-1% unemployment rate; there are lots of jobs in a broad spectrum of industry
ATF Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Rice planter, milk maid, pig slopper, fish gutter, chicken chopper or supermodel.
sdanielmcev Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 Bar-girl detectives are always in demand. Maybe teach classes on how to cheat on your wife.
mraitchison Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I imagine the same jobs that are available to women all across the world, and not just Thailand or is that being too logical? 1
Beetlejuice Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 i am the idiot to come and ask a local question from a forum with bunch of frangs. I should have just asked my Thai friends. SOrry for wasting your time. No you`re not, this was before I saw this thread and being one of the most intelligent Thai visa members will give you a common sense and straight forward answer as I do on all the threads I respond to. Young Thai people whether males or females have very little chance of archiving any types of decent careers without some sorts of University degrees, unless they know the right people, have good contacts in the right places or their families already own businesses that they can work in, or in the case of young women, if they have good looks and are talented they may have opportunities to do some professional modelling or even get into show business, but of course that all depends on a lot of luck. Even the basic BA, are these days hardly considered worth the paper they are printed on as there are millions of ordinary young Thai people with such degrees and unless the person has outstanding qualities a cut above the rest, then again their chances of making a decent standard of living in a prominent career are limited. I know that many companies will not even entertain anyone without some sort of degree and the only options open to these young people are types of manual work, such as factory jobs, retail, drivers, cleaners, security guards, car park attendants, restaurant staff and so on. Most teaching jobs at Thai schools, colleges and Universities now require a minimum of a MA plus a few other degrees and for many Thais the affordability to press on for a MA is out of the question. But, having degrees does not always guarantee anything today in this highly competitive world. The marketing strategy is more for less, meaning they prefer employees between the ages of 18 to 30, with 50 years work experience on the wages of school leavers. In answer to your question; what non retail 9 to 5 jobs are available for Thai girls, well, my answer to that is; I don`t believe there is such a thing as a 9 to 5 job anymore, these days the employers want flexibility at work, meaning, that staff are expected to work at times when the employers want them to and all that I have mentioned above applies the world over, not only in Thailand.
ryanhull Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 I have a few Thai friends who buy bags/clothing wholesale and sell at local markets, infact a few are also selling skin care cream etc via facebook and what not, I know its not in the conditions of your 9-5 however might be worth looking into. Also she could check out some of the hotel reception roles going or real estate/condo sales. Good luck Bar-girl detectives are always in demand. Maybe teach classes on how to cheat on your wife. Have a word with yourself will you
geronimo Posted October 14, 2014 Posted October 14, 2014 One of the better options, if you have a small investment and a business head, is a market trader. It takes a while to find your feet but most do. You are your own boss and the mark up can be worth it. My wife buys second hand clothes (by the sackful) and sells them for 50 bt each. It is important to get the location and the product right.
